Before the martini is served

We had the nicest FedX driver who actually put severely heavy boxes on our lanai. One look at hubs and me, he knew helplessness when he saw it.
Monday morning hubs and I had 4 loads of old, bulky, rotted patio furniture to put at the curb a block away. We used various carts provided by the condo. Our appointment was in the evening, but thank goodness hubs wanted it gone early. I ran with a cartload of cushions as they were about to pull away.
Well, some things do work out for the best, because the FedX driver arrived shortly after with our new furniture. It took hubs all week to put everything together. Not easy when there are missing parts, quick trips to the hardware store, large hands to fit in tiny places, and very hot days with the sun beating down. I helped when needed and was in charge of the pillows.
Now to relax on the lanai in my new patio furniture with my Friday date night martini. Anyone care to join me? Don’t all rush. We can only seat 4

Thanks. It’s supposed to be waterproof and fade resistant, but since it was inexpensive and we don’t believe the claims, we bought it anyway.
Our other crappy furniture dried up a few years ago. We’ve been looking and looking since then, but needed something that would not only fit on this lanai, but would be more comfortable than the other furniture.
The sun ruins everything here.

@DianneN I hope it does last for a very long time so you don't have to worry about it again! The sun in FL is vicious, I remember.

@LovingMyBabies You have a good memory about the sun here. A lady who owns a house down the block told me it’s so hard for her to grow vegetables in the hot sun unless she waters constantly and gives them some shade.
Thanks. We didn’t spend much money on the furniture knowing it will have to be trashed within years. Still, such a waste of money all the same, but there’s nothing we could do.

Nice that this was all so nicely synchronized. I don't think I've ever had a martini. I'm more of a rum or whiskey kind of gal. I usually bring my own Canadian Mist.

It was amazing how it all worked out that way. Otherwise, we’d have had to bring our dining room chairs outside.
Feel free to bring some whiskey over. Hubs will join you. Btw, he introduced me to martinis when I was 21. I hated them and never had another until several years ago. It’s an acquired taste to be sure.
