What's For Dinner?

Happy Saturday Everyone! my home alone day turned out to be not so alone 
My son and daughter in law were coming to my neighborhood to do some shopping and stopped by for a visit. It was totally unexpected but definitely a welcome surprise. It's rare I get to hog up my son and daughter in law without the kids coming along. We had coffee together and then they ventured out to do their shopping (Hobby Lobby, Sams Club and Target). I bet those stores were jammed packed with the upcoming storm for tomorrow into Monday.
I'm certainly not looking forward to this storm which changes for the worst with every update. From a few inches of snow now we're getting at least 8 inches. I'm just hoping my daughter gets home from her weekend away before the snow starts. I hate when they use words like blizzard conditions, bomb cyclone and thunder snow. I hate, hate, hate this winter
Anyway, my dinner is almost ready (meatloaf, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies) Thought I'd pop on and chat while I eat. The site was down when I was having my coffee this morning and then the day just flew by.

Getting out for a nice long walk sounds like a good way to enjoy your Saturday. Your chicken curry and basmati rice sounds really good. I make a lot of chicken but never think to do a curry

We got some icy rain and snow last night but the snow melted as soon as it touched the ground. My car still had a little ice on it this morning when I took my morning meds but the temp reached 41F today so everything is gone now. 
I hope the weather people are mistaken about the amount of snow your area will get. Good luck with that!
I didn't lay any meat down to thaw this morning so I don't know what we'll have for supper tonight. I might just have a couple of sausages in hot dog buns. We shall see.

It's already Sunday morning and it's snowing. Guess they weren't wrong and we're getting the blizzard predicted. So far the totals are up to almost a foot and then some.

It seems like you just got rid of all that snow, and now you’re getting more. That’s not fair, is it. We get a colder weekend, but nothing like what is headed your way. Sadie was just thrilled to get a longer walk today, and didn’t care it was so chilly
I’m really glad to hear your son stopped by with your daughter-in-law. That’s got to have been a lovely visit.

We're getting hit with another major storm and it's going to be a foot of snow or more. It's a pain and this winter has really been horrible. At least my HOA will plow and shovel so that's a blessing.
I really enjoyed the visit from my son and daughter in law.
I never had pizza with Alfredo sauce but it sounds delicious.

It's already snowing here and it's only 9am (sunday). Looks like they were right and we're going to get hit with at least a foot of snow or more. Enjoy your warm Texas temperatures

Actually I'm fine on my own but I certainly wouldn't be happy living alone. I would miss having someone to talk to.

I'm sure in the next few months we'll be complaining that it's too hot too but right now we're having a blizzard and it's cold, miserable and tired of all this snow.

Looks like the storm will be bad but at long as we don't lose power I'm okay. Have plenty of food and there's always something to do even stuck inside for the next few days.
I don't mind being alone but I wouldn't want to have to live alone unless it was unavoidable. I do enjoy having someone to talk to.

The storm is going to be a real pain. Predicting at least a foot of snow or more so it's going to be a mess for the next few days. My only fear is losing power when it's cold and there would be no heat.

We are under a Winter Storm Watch from today through Tuesday. Thunder snow is cool though. I've only experienced it a few times. Other than that, this winter sucks.
For dinner I had leftover pizza...yum.

It's official ... we're getting a blizzard with totals of a foot or more. Looks like we're stuck once again with piles of snow. Hope you don't get hit bad there.

I am glad to hear about your son and daughter in law coming by to visit, I know that is so nice when that happens. Yes, I imagine anywhere that is near that big snow/blizzard/bomb cycle thing that's coming, is being hit by the shoppers getting out and about to get what they need to and what they want. I hope that YOU have what you need as well, Marilyn.

It's already snowing here (sunday morning) and it's going to be a pretty big storm. At least a foot of snow or more predicted. Guess it will be a mess for the next few days. Fingers crossed we don't lose power as that would be horrible not to have heat (or be able to make my coffee )

I saw that on Ryan Hall's weather report this morning &
from the looks of it, I don't see it coming into our neck of
the woods, but it doesn't sound very good for where it's
going, It's been a nippy cold windy few days here for us.
I just got up from a 4 hr nap & had a chicken broccoli
pot pie for a mid dinner to hold me over for a bit Till I
think of something else to eat for the night (6 pm) I will
have something to hold me till morning in a few hours.
