Good news!

Okay, I can finally stop talking about that doctor now. I pretty much suspected the temporary assistants (that normally work in the lab) in his office were not giving him my messages directly. The usual girl sadly might have to go on disability because she might need a new liver. Anyway, I remembered several months ago when this happened he actually called me from his personal cell phone. He had been calling the wrong number, and when he realized this he was apparently home for the weekend. He had texted me first to explain he was about to call. So today, I remembered that, and thought well, he could get really mad that I bothered him at his personal number or he could realize his current staff is woefully ignorant on how to run the office, and he lives in la la land. Or, a third option: I need to talk to my doctor and I did what I had to do. So I texted him and a few hours later he called me to have our appointment. We went over everything, he changed my medication (for the better in my opinion), and I won’t have to see him for another month. He actually said, why don’t we try this medication for a week, and if it doesn’t work we’ll switch you back. I told him I’d rather not do that because I can’t be guaranteed to get to talk to him in a week. He took that well, and I hope I said it with enough humor. Anyway, thank goodness.

I probably wouldn't have thought of that, either, but I'm glad you did! Congrats that it actually worked and he called you back! Hopefully, he called in the new meds so you can pick them up Monday.

He did. I double checked, and was ready to bug him if he hadn’t done it.

Good thinking texting him directly. I just write my doctor directly on Mychart. Do you have this?

Yes, but his staff checks that, and his staff since the competent lady left is ridiculous.

That stinks that that is what was going on...but that is great you got to talk to him and he changed it for you and everything. Hopefully the change will work.
