How often do you return things?

I don’t have any problem returning things from a brick and mortar store, but I can’t think of a time I have returned something from an online site. Now, I also haven’t needed to take anything expensive online back, or my hesitancy to mess with it would probably go away.
Do you take things back? Or does it depend on the cost?

I honestly don't really buy much online unless it's food that we need that is cheaper online than it is at the stores here. I can't remember a time when it would have required a refund. I know that shipping costs are wild, I can see why people do not want to pay that charge.

I bought a pair of ugg boots from Nordstrom online. After trying them on, I decided I don’t want them. Instead of dealing with trying to ship them back I just went to the store for the return. I had to pay three dollars to get there and three dollars to get back home, but it’s probably cheaper than it would’ve been to try to ship it back. I try not to buy things online if I can’t physically return them to a store.

If it’s over five dollars I’ll return it. Or gift it to someone. I hate returning things online.

Hi Amber, if I don’t like it, I return it. Usually Amazon stuff.
Because online pics of products are so deceptive these days.
I’m fixing up my room temporarily while hotel-hoppin’ and I ordered this white-tile looking area rug. When it got here, this thing needed to be ASSEMBLED.
It was like this huge rubber jigsaw puzzle and you had to get the pieces to fit together and then throw what can only be described as a large drape or curtain over it and glue in the corners.
Total, complete nonsense. And waste of time. When all was said and done, it looked like a big drop cloth you’d throw on the ground before you paint the walls. It was just so ugly, nothing like the pics.
Consider it returned.

I have returned a couple online for the reason that it arrived damaged or sometimes wrong items. The return and refund system online is convent so I easily return those that I must.

Sometimes, but we usually buy most things either offline or from a place that has a brick and mortar location we can return them.
We ordered a new pan last month from the online Walmart and discovered it wasn't what they claimed it was so returned it to the local store and bought a different set a few days ago. (It was supposed to be T-Fal top-of-the-line ceramic non-stick pan but, when I actually tried making scrambled eggs in it, they stuck... I washed it and we returned it and then bought their HeatMaster line with the Thermo-spot for even heating. I've tried the skillet and the Dutch Oven and both worked perfectly without sticking! (I made the beanie weenies in the Dutch Oven and scrambled eggs with onions and ham in the skillet and am quite happy with them.
)
We threw away our old skillet and donated several of the other Calphalon pans that we hardly used. (Back when I bought the Calphalon set, I paid $100 for each pan and lid.) I really liked the Calphalon pans but there was no way Pretty would pay that much for pans.

I guess I'm not a very representative consumer; the last time I took something back to a physical shop was about ten years ago when I took a garment back that had a defect. They couldn't exchange it as there were no more in stock so they gave me a discount instead, and in the end I managed to repair the problem at home.
I haven't really needed to return anything I've bought online. The only thing I can think of was when I bought a car part that I was assured was the right type for my car, but when it arrived it clearly wasn't. The seller (on Ebay) gave me a refund. I offered to return it but he didn't want it back.

I do not return items via the online sites due to the expensive shipping costs.
