Do you take anything that makes you sleepy?

My dad takes Magnesium Glycinate because he suffers from cramps (recommended by his doctor). He didn’t know it can make you sleepy until I told him that so now he only takes it at night. A side effect from one of my medications (NOT a muscle relaxer) is sleepiness. I’m hoping my body will get used to it, and the sleepiness will wear off. I don’t really want to nap during the day. And yes, I know some of you don’t take anything at all.

A Bailey's at night sometimes seems to make me sleep better.

Yeah, I started taking Magnesium glycinate too I also take melatonin. Even with that I still wake up drives me nuts..at least I go to sleep pretty easily. I overdid it on Sunday though that is why I was sleepy all day.

@AmbiePam No, just hard for me to wind down and then to stay asleep once I am..probably depression and age related.

I don't take anything at all. I don't like taking naps during the day as I feel guilty when I do. I always think that I should be working or doing something productive during the day.

I was doing a magnesium spray but it left me groggy in the daytime, just like melatonin does. So I am back to waking exhausted and sometimes falling asleep in my chair in the afternoon.

I tried taking magnesium glycinate before at bedtime, but I kept having weird dreams. I'm more used to taking ashwagandha and GABA with D3 supplements. They help improve my mood and I can have them in capsule and gummy forms (for when I'm in a rush.) Melatonin is fine too if taken in small doses. But lately, it's exercise and GABA that help me sleep better.

I take nothing at the present time. I worry I might not wake up if I am needed. But I know the Magnesium helps a lot of people.

I don't take anything at the moment. I tend to have an easy time falling asleep.

I take a muscle relaxant when I have a migraine and that puts me right to sleep. The epi-pens also make me fall asleep after I start having an allergic reaction. (I'd rather NOT sleep all day after getting one of those shots but I really don't have a choice.)

I'm in the "don't take anything at all" category. I have heard how great magnesium is for sleeping.

No I don't take anything, but afternoons make me sleepy It's bad for afternoon events like concerts or theatre, especially on cold days or if I've been rushing about a lot, then I go into a warm room, sit down and the lights are dimmed and the music is soothing... I just have to hope I don't embarrass myself by falling off my seat or something!

@AmbiePam It's always been a problem for me; as a student afternoon tutorials and lectures were a nightmare. I'm going to a concert this afternoon so wish me luck!

I still cant find my magnesium. I need to get more I guess. I take muscle relaxer and a pain pill, and sometimes I take nyquil.

I don't take anything, but I remember I had to take a medication years ago that made me sleepy and I do not even remember what it was.

I have been blessed to fall to sleep naturally. Once in a blue moon I might have trouble, but just stay in bed until I do go to sleep.

I'm sorry it makes your dad sleepy. Good idea to take it at night. No, I don't take anything that makes me sleepy or to put me to sleep.

When I am sick, Benadryl makes me sleepy. But I don't take anything to make me sleep. I will be taking a cbd/thc gummy before going to my gyno to help me relax, but it won't make me sleepy.
