It happened in a restaurant in Miami. My nephew just finished a luncheon meeting. Victoria was waiting for a friend who never showed up.
My nephew, Dylan, turned around and their eyes met and held for a solid minute, and then he went to her table and the rest is romantic history.
But there is always a blip.
Victoria was born in Poland and has lived most of her life in Hamburg, Germany. She has such an adorable accent. Her beauty business and family are there and she must return on April 3rd.
Dylan and Victoria are still getting to know each other. It’s only been five weeks. Long distance relationships are not good. She’s going to look into visas, work visas, and into her heart.
They are both so similar in their work ethics, healthy diets, working out, etc.
If you’re married, how did you meet your other half? If not, what would be a romantic meeting to you?

I hope they can work something out to continue their relationship.
I’d like to meet someone in church. My grandparents, parents, and sister all met their spouses at church, and I think that would be ideal since spiritual matters are so important to me.

@thedevilinme Only if you sing some love songs and can really play the guitar.
Just behave yourself. She’s more gorgeous in person.

@DianneN wow I am shocked they don’t find her beautiful. It’s hard to believe anyone could look at her and think she isn’t.
I’m not sure why I thought it was 2 weeks. Still it was very generous of you for allowing someone you just met and who your nephew didn’t know long to stay with you at all!

Two days!
I was at my brother and sister in law’s house this afternoon and as much as we like her, they don’t think it will last.
My younger son is on FaceTime right now, and saw the photos of her. He doesn’t think she’s beautiful and nor does my husband. Heaven help me!

I first met my husband at a shrimp boil. We were both there with someone else. That was the Spring of 1988. I was only in town visiting a friend. I returned to college a few hours away and didn't see my husband again until November of the same year. I was there visiting my friend again. Neither of us were seeing anyone and he spent the weekend visiting with us. It was such a fun weekend. We got along so well. It felt like we had known each other forever. Going back to school when the weekend was over was torture. We kept the telephone hot and saw each other when we could. We got engaged a few months after meeting and married in July 1989. It was the best decision that I ever made.
How did you met your husband ?

That’s a true love story! I know how much you love each other to this day, and it was certainly meant to be

I was lavaliered to my boyfriend of six years. He was far away at another university and I was at mine, but still dated others. One of my roommates was seeing someone who lived in a house with my husband. They threw a party and all my roommates went. I wasn’t about to sit home, so I went and met hubs. He asked me to see a piano player friend right after the party and I went. We hit it off immediately and on our next date, he told me that I was going to marry him. He was right, but my old boyfriend wound up having a nervous breakdown, never went to med school, eventually became a dentist, continued bothering me for years….. I felt so guilty, but I was in love with hubs. Years later he belonged to our beach club and followed me around, but hubs was friendly to him. We saw him again at my high school reunion and again years later at a fundraiser. He still talked with hubs, and followed us wherever we went. So sad….but so happy for us. Whew!

I hope they're able to find a way to continue either a long distance relationship or getting a visa. Your nephew is a perfect example that you don't need to dating site to find that special someone.

@DianneN It's kind of nice to hear that he's invested in his career before settling down. I doubt he'll have trouble finding the "right" one when the time is right. Keep us posted on this relationship as it will be interesting to hear if it works.

I am in a long distance relationship and mine has worked so far. But we are both in the US. Chris is hopefully coming down for Easter. I met Chris online back in 1994. We met in person in 1997. We aren't married.
But theirs is really long distance. She is very pretty.

@JESSY3236 If you’re happy with that arrangement, then it’s good by me. Btw, you don’t need an expensive ring to get married. And, it can always be upgraded years later.

I remembered that. Aren’t you and Chris engaged? Any plans on getting married?
Yes, she has the most beautiful green eyes and is stunning, especially in person. I really don’t know how their relationship will end up. It’s too bad, because they make a great couple.

@DianneN We aren't exactly engaged. I still wear the ring though. We did get "married" in Las Vegas many years ago, but we had to get it annulled because of my family. I did ask him while I was in NJ back in November if he wanted to get married for real, but he said the ring is too expensive. He said his uncle isn't married and has a girlfriend.

As you know, my hubby is gone; but I met him through his sister. He was home from the service and when I saw him, I just knew there was going to be something special between us. I actually asked him out the first time.
Victoria is quite a stunner.

A long distance relationship can really be difficult but when they like each other so much, things could work out well.

I will let you know. He had a long distance relationship with a girl who lived in Los Angeles and when he was living in Manhattan. Fortunately, she flew to the city twice a month for her job. But they broke up when they both moved to Seattle and she wanted to get married and have babies. He wasn’t ready for that.

Good for you taking the first step! I know you had a long marriage and not many couples can say that.
I misspelled her name. It’s Viktoria. She has the most amazing green eyes that I’ve ever seen.
