Tell Me This Doesn't Make You Shake Your Head and Say What????

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a mostly sunny day here today so that automatically makes me smile. I think I mentioned that last week I put in an online order with Hobby Lobby. Their yarn was on sale and I was looking for a pretty pink so I could make a blanket for my cousins new baby., In addition to the yarn, I also got some nice hand towels for the bathroom, and a small picture frame. Hobby Lobby was offering free shipping on $59 (used to be $50) so I placed my order and it arrived this morning. I was so excited to open it but noticed that the shipping label said..... shipped by Amazon!!! What?? how could that be? I went into my Hobby Lobby account and it had my order and tracking number and the date it was shipped. When I hit track order it immediately said it was out for delivery and the link said Amazon. I am totally perplexed and is Amazon now taking over the world??

Wow, that is weird. Maybe they are just taking over Hobby Lobby's shipping..if that is the case, then the shipping rate should be 35.00 instead of 59 or whatever Amazon's free shipping rate is. I don't know cuz I have Prime.

I'm still shaking my head over it. Everything in the box is Hobby Lobby but the label is Amazon. You're right though about the shipping. I also have Amazon Prime and it should have been free if that's the case. I wish I had seen if it was an Amazon truck that left the package

I have read that Hobby Lobby sells on Amazon now, I suppose it's a better deal for them.

That is too much information sharing from 1 business to another for my liking. Here uber does delivery for eats but also groceries and even other shops. But my most recent experience with shipping was from FedEx. I would think that they would need to include a disclosure to their customers what third party they are employing for delivery. Maybe Amazon is trying to take over the world, they lost my business over a year ago because I am supporting Canadian businesses.

I don't have an answer but we have a very big Amazon warehouse quite near us.

With technology taking over the systems, Amazon might have been a cheaper option to get the item to you.

I asked the lady on my phone; and she said that Hobby Lobby remains a privately owned company. Amazon does sell Hobby Lobby items.

I had that happen once as well, and it seemed weird to me too.

I have had that happen to before. I wonder if you somehow purchased it through a third party seller.

Don't be too surprised. Walmart also buys stock for their stores from Amazon, too. (We were told not to tell anybody while I worked there but I don't work there anymore so I can tell anybody I want now. )

I checked and straight from the Internet to you Hobby Lobby is now selling on Amazon, but it operates as a separate seller. While Hobby Lobby has established a presence on the Amazon marketplace, customers should note that the deals available online may not reflect the same in-store discounts offered at physical location

I am not surprised, I’ve heard of others who ordered items from a private company and they were shipped by Amazon. Honestly, the mail delivery here is so erratic and beyond terrible I would welcome Amazon bringing it. I’m certainly no expert, but I don’t see how the mail service will ever be fixed unless a miracle takes place!

That does sound weird I think Amazon have their fingers in millions of pies. Are you going to ask Hobby Lobby about it

Sometimes it happens when ordering from Walmart as well, I suppose many sites use Amazon depending on the products.

lol Yes. I ordered some shoes from Walmart and when I got them they said they came from Amazon. It was ok because I really like them and they fit.
