I nearly cried

I was going to work today and the next two days and then be done with school. I had sent in my resignation letter. Well, at 1:15 this morning I am not sure what Bob did but he knocked over a heavy piece of furniture by his bed, and proceeded to tell me it was fine and he meant to do it. At 6 ish when he wanted to get up for the bathroom he asked me "Did I really do that?". "How did I do that?" Heck if I know, but needless to say I got very little sleep after 1:15. I decided I had to go ahead and just not go back. I sent appropriate messages. They are very understanding. Meanwhile the doctor wanted labs today to see how it was going putting back in a medication at half dose. I had a box of things for the preschool, and my badge to turn in. I needed to empty my locker. I nearly cried. Yes, I want to be with Bob, but I miss my kids and coworkers. Wish us luck. I almost have the mess cleaned up from last night. Bob is asleep now, so I cannot work on it.

Oh, Heather. I'm sorry you and Bob are going through this. Yes, you have to be with Bob now. I know the school and the kids will really miss you, your loving ways, and your wonderful heart. I will keep you in my prayers.

I’m praying for you, Heather. I can’t imagine how tough this has been for you. You served the Lord well at that school. I know the difference you made will carry on.

Oh, my! Yeah, Bob comes first. You know he doesn't understand what's happening. He'd never take you away from the kids on purpose. Keeping you both in my thoughts.

Maybe you could visit or go in to volunteer for special projects or something like that. That way you can still be a part of it... I know you will miss it..but Bob needs a caretaker I think.

It is too bad that as you are so happy with your work atmosphere, you need to take the time to help Bob. Of course Bob isn't willing his health issues, and you know that, but he is blessed to have you. My sister-in-law had to take the last year of her working career off from work as a leave. Her husband had some major strokes, and she got a bit of sick time for a couple of months, but then finally she approached her doctor to give her a long term leave, which carried her until she would have retired. I know that you will never regret this decision, and you will always be able to go back and volunteer for a respite care type of a day for yourself.

Hugs from me. It wouldn't be the same but in a way I wish you could do an hour or two of volunteering with kids.

I’m so very sorry that you and Bob are in this predicament. Of course Bob comes first. Perhaps you can say your goodbyes, clean out your locker, and hand in everything you need to do another day. I’m sure you’ll be terribly missed by everyone, but you can always pop in to say hello when you can.
