Do you have Dead Butt Syndrome?

It’s a fact that those who sit on their tushes for long periods of time get fat behinds, butts, ass#s, rear ends, or whatever you call yours.
It’s due to fat accumulation and muscular atrophy. Constant pressure on the buttocks can speed up fat cell growth leading to a flatter, wider, or more saggy appearance.
It’s important to stand, stretch, and move around every hour. Every hour!!! In addition, there are various exercises to do. I do all that.
I certainly don’t want my behind to look like that. Have you checked yours recently?

I don't care personally. However, I am getting up to use the bathroom, get things in the kitchen, make food etc so I am not just sitting,

@RasmaSandra Well, I certainly love meatballs. We had spaghetti and meatballs last night.
We’re trying to eat whatever we have in the fridge and freezer before we leave. Short about 5 meals.

About 5 years ago I realized that I was sitting too much. I forced myself to get up and start moving more. This sort of led to my ''awakening'' of the fact that I needed to get serious about dumping excess weight and stop sitting so much. There is so, so much truth to the old saying ''If you don't use it, you lose it!'' Yes, it can hurt to move if a person has health issues. And I do. But the alternative if you don't move is that you could become immobile, and I sure don't want that. I advocate for movement and break up my sitting time!
Oh, and for the record, my fanny looks a lot better than it used to!

My left leg is not the best...permanent neuropathy issues and then burning tingles all the time. But the best thing is to keep moving, I don't want the other leg to get like that. And I feel tons better after dumping the excess weight. Thanks, Dianne.

@DianneN True... Have you seen some of the latest reports that thinking about exercising can be just as good as doing them?

@DaddyEvil Actually, I have, but it won’t build significant muscle on it’s own.

That’s a weird assumption. Some of us are just multitasking

@DianneN I mean it is a weird assumption that all we are doing is sitting here. Judge not lest ye be judged.

@DianneN And it's easy to just get up and do some stretches at least.

Well all of me is fat, so I guess I don't have to worry. No, I know I need to lose half of my body weight. Just doing so is the problem

I take it that you’re not working on it? I find that just cutting back on the calories a little bit at a time and moving more helps me tremendously. The heavier I am, the faster the pounds drop. No fancy way out diets are necessary, but I’m sure you already know that.

@DianneN I should be working on it, especially since I want to get pregnant, and it might help that. I do know what I need to do to lose weight, I lost 75 pounds in the past, but that was over 10 years ago. I did work out up to 3 hours a day, every single day too.
I just haven't been in a place where I want to cut back on calories lol...and moving at all is painful.

Oh, no, my watch logs how much I stand and tells me to get my no-longer-fat butt up if I am sitting too much.

Fortunately, my backside still looks mostly good. When I worked my career in municipal government and had a desk job, I always made sure to get up every hour and walk around and stretch. These days, I don't really sit around too much, I am almost always on my feet. I hope my constant physical activity helps keep my various body parts from sagging too much as I age out! lol
