She’s losing $100,000

You’ve read me talking about my friend with a rescue. She beat the city once, but not the second time. They told her by May 15th she needed to have four dogs in her possession, not 36. Although they didn’t find her six cats, they told her she could only have four cats. Her amount of goats didn’t matter (she has acres of land). Her solution? Take a $100,000 loss by selling all her land and buying a smaller property where this city can’t tell her what to do.
It’s a disaster waiting to happen. People want her land. They just don’t care for the house on it, or the fact that so many outbuilding have been let go to pot. She’s a nurse, and she makes good money. However, she’s terrible with her money, and that includes the money she puts back into her rescue.
The papers have not been signed yet on her land. She keeps saying she’ll be homeless May 15th. Everyone loves her, but everyone knows she’s not doing what’s best for her her, and quite frankly, for the dogs either. She thinks she’s saving them all, but the situation isn’t great for all of them.
So far, all the bids she has put on other land has been rejected.

Oh my goodness, this sounds like an animal hoarding situation. So many people want to rescue animals, and it just goes wildly out of control.

@AmbiePam the fact that the outbuildings have been deteriorating made me think of it, but it's good to hear that the house is clean.

Ouch! That's a lot of money to lose. Especially when she thinks she's helping the animals.
It's too bad she doesn't talk to somebody about the hoarding situation. Maybe they could help her.

She should have started a FB go fund me a long time ago, and or find some wealthy friends.

@AmbiePam The GoFund me probably would have helped a lot and probably still can..if she sets it up.

That's terrible. Her intention may be good but it's not good for her at all.

That's the bad thing about eminent domain: what the government wants, the government gets. It's better to take the money and run (to quote Steve Miller) than to hold out when they bully you and give you a nickel.

What a terrible situation. The 15th of May is so terribly close, what is she going to do now?
I agree with @snowy22315, she had to start a GoFundMe weeks ago.

It is so hard to see when you are harming yourself. You just want to pursue a dream. Reality can often be brutal.

She’s never going to admit she made a mistake, but I think it will be clear soon she made one.
Her life would be so much better if she stopped trying to save the world. But she’s got a hole in her heart, one left by her cheating ex husband, and she’s been trying to fill it in an unhealthy manner for decades now.

She is making her own choice to be homeless at this point. Not much anyone else can do if she won't give up some of the dogs.

That's a very sad situation your friend is in. It certainly doesn't sound like it's going to end well for either her or the animals.

I hate hearing about situations like this. The dogs I'm sure are not getting the individual care that they need.
