Do You....?

I have always had cats in my life. I have never bathed one of them. I can see where some situations would need a bath. When our two younger cats (Colbert and Finn) got hurt their wounds had to be cleaned continually so they nearly had baths. But we don't bathe them for cosmetic reasons. Do you bathe your cats?

On the farm, we never bathed the cats. They were never allowed inside the house, either. I haven't owned furbabies since I grew up. I've always been allergic to them.

Allergic? That's sad. I couldn't do without them.

When I had my cats they used to sleep in bed with me. They had to go to the groomer's regularly.

I have only bathed one. She was near a fuel tank when it fell over and fuel oil got on her. I didn't want her ingesting that. She seemed to appreciate the bath

She probably did appreciate the bath after that.

@celticeagle I expected a big fight as she had always been an outside cat. But she sat beautifully in the bathroom sink while I shampooed her with dawn three different times.

@celticeagle he tolerated it and it was important because he had long hair so he would not get clumps,

Your post brings back memories. One of my major responsibilities when I worked at the Cat Clinic was washing cats.

@celticeagle I talked every cat through the process. Of course each cat was a stranger to me. So I talked to the cat as I soaped and rinsed.

No, not these two. I have in the past given flea baths and way back long ago when I was a teen we would regularly give flea baths. Mostly not a fun experience. I did once have a cat that liked water.

Most cats don't like being bathed. Mostly, they are okay just cleaning themselves.

Lol Our cats wouldn't let you put them anywhere near water. Try and you would have no hands left lol
