An evening of wine and music

We spent yesterday evening at a very enjoyable venue in Bickley Valley in the hills near Perth. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival and this was topped up later if you wished. Plates of finger foods were circulated throughout the evening.
After about an hour, we were ushered into a larger area and given the first of four samples of wine. We took our seats at this point and listened to an orchestral quartet perform a piece by Debussy. When the piece finished, we all stood up and went to get our second sampling before coming back to listen to more music. The music was chosen to complement the wines.
The food kept coming around and after the fourth sampling, we were treated to a short concert by the string quartet. All in all, it was a lovely way to spend a cold night. We stayed with my BIL and his daughter took us to and from the venue.
The photo shows the huge fireplace in the main room. Everything in this room came from recycled items. The huge beams and timbers were once part of the old Busselton jetty. I’ll have more to write about the jetty later.

I love that fireplace, not many people here have one.
I hope you'll get to do this sort of thing much more often.
