An evening of wine and music

We spent yesterday evening at a very enjoyable venue in Bickley Valley in the hills near Perth. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival and this was topped up later if you wished. Plates of finger foods were circulated throughout the evening.
After about an hour, we were ushered into a larger area and given the first of four samples of wine. We took our seats at this point and listened to an orchestral quartet perform a piece by Debussy. When the piece finished, we all stood up and went to get our second sampling before coming back to listen to more music. The music was chosen to complement the wines.
The food kept coming around and after the fourth sampling, we were treated to a short concert by the string quartet. All in all, it was a lovely way to spend a cold night. We stayed with my BIL and his daughter took us to and from the venue.
The photo shows the huge fireplace in the main room. Everything in this room came from recycled items. The huge beams and timbers were once part of the old Busselton jetty. I’ll have more to write about the jetty later.

@MarieCoyle We don't really like spending that much money but the BIL asked us. We did enjoy it and thought it was quite good value for what we paid.

Sounds like such a nice time. I haven't done anything like that in a very long time, either.

Wow, that sounds like my kind of event! I am a musician who appreciates all music, so I might seem like a pop/soul/rock/country/folk musician on the surface, but I can appreciate classical music and I am doing classical music in college. I think I would absolutely love an event like that!

This does look like a warm and inviting place to be for an evening. I keep forgetting that your weather is opposite of ours.

I'm reading about the excessive heat you're having over there. I hope it doesn't mean excessive cold for us.

That fireplace sounds like it adds a lot of character to the venue, especially knowing the timber has a history from the Busselton Jetty. That kind of reuse gives places a really unique atmosphere.

It wasn't cheap but the BIL asked if we'd like to go. I'm glad we did. It was good value for money.
