Well that was interesting I just saw a coyote in back of my house

This was only the second or 3rd time I saw one in this development. The last time you saw one for sure it was in the same wooded section behind my house. Hmm, better that than a bear I guess, although a bear would be more interesting.

Hey, that coyote probably caught a few mice or rats and ate them. It's what they do.

I pray no one is using poison to kill those rodents because that will kill the raptors and make a coyote sick and could even kill it @snowy22315

@rebelann There ism't anyone using poison. It is a wooded area, dozens of acres..People aren't poisoning wild things. I don't even know how many would be around. Small critters here have predators. I rarely even see a rabbit.

I wish it were true here as well @snowy22315 but a lot of people here go to mexico to buy poison because they want to kill insects and rodents, I just can't figure out how they get past customs with that crap.

It is interesting to learn that you have coyotes in your neighborhood.

Be careful when you are outside alone.

Not too worried, it is very rare for them to go after a person.

I don't like those around because they will go after any small animal

I'd prefer a coyote any day rather than a bear.

@JudyEv I have one, but the manual was a Chinese English thing an hard to read. I kept meaning to give it to my nephew to work on, but forgot and I forget to ask my son. We thought we had it set up, and the sample video didn't work.

Yeah, I would be a bit concerned if I saw a bear 10 yards from the house..but I have to admit, I wouldn't be shocked to see one. It would make think when I went out I should take some sort of protection with me though. Also, if I had a trail cam set up back there..I wouldn't be surprised to see one either, because they are usually out at night.

Most wild animals are quite timid.

Yeah, a bear would be more interesting, but a coyote won’t make scared to leave my house.

No, it is rare for them to attack people.

I imagine that a coyote could be a danger for a small dog, but I agree that it's better than a bear.

Yeah, bears are unpredictable and they do sometimes attack people who they perceive as some kind of threat, or in the West maybe to eat. One time I read about a lady who lived I don't know maybe 100 miles from here who got attacked just going to her mailbox. It was pretty serious. it was cold and she had a broken thigh. I think she didn't have her phone with her because she was just going to the mailbox..but I guess a neighbor saw her or something and called 911. If something happened to me, I would be quite unlikely to have a neighbor spot me..unless I was down by the road. That is part of the reason I didn't go out much with that terrible weather system we had with the ice and snow, and how I always had my phone on me. If I got injured I literally could have been there for a long time..I guess if I was screaming though somebody might hear me without that much trouble.

@snowy22315 - We are lucky not to have dangerous wild animals too close where we live. I never take my phone with me when I go downstairs to get our mail and often the few neighbors are at work when I go downstairs.

Haven't heard any coyotes since we moved. Just an owl.

I don't think I have heard one either. Although I suppose some of the dog sounds I hear sometimes could be them. Maybe they are the non howl variety.of coyote..
