When is Too Much a Bad Thing?

My birthday was last weekend, and all my friends, family and loved ones know how much I love steak. So, naturally, everybody wanted to treat me to steak dinners in celebration of another successful trip around the sun. And being the steak lover I am, I could not say no to any of them!
But when is too much of a good thing a bad thing? I had filet mignon steak 4 nights over the past week. I'm pretty sure my iron levels are through the roof right now!
Well, in this case I would say too much of a good thing is not a bad thing, at least for me. I would eat steak every night if I could! But then I guess it wouldn't be special anymore. But I'm not complaining, and I would say that this definitely was not a bad thing!
How about you? When has too much of a good thing become a bad thing for. you?
And, anyone interested in taking me out for another steak dinner? LOL

Wow....that's a LOT of steak. It's wonderful that people want to take you out for your birthday, it speaks a lot of what kind of person you are. But maybe you better ease up? haha that's a lot of red meat! You're going to start mooing soon!
Steak is priced so ridiculously high, I cannot remember the last time we had any. Enjoy!

I am a carnivore through and through. I will keep eating red meat until it kills me! lol
In reality though, I probably eat chicken or pork much more than I eat red meat.
What would be your perfect birthday meal?

I'm not sure...but if I could pick anything? Maybe absolutely fresh seafood, a filet mignon, some fresh vegetables, and some type of yummy dessert (on a birthday a person NEEDS the dessert, too! )

Yeah, I’d have to win the lottery in order to afford steak every day! But that would be money well spent!

@moffittjc Just whatever strikes my fancy at the time. There is a European place in a town not too far from here that is pretty good. I have been there for bday a few times..think We had prime rib one year.

@snowy22315 It's almost always steak for me on my birthday, or seafood (or sometimes both), but I know what you mean about. whatever strikes your fancy at the time. I'm like that normally. I'll eat just about anything, but sometimes I crave something specific.

Pretty and I have steak about once a month lately... We buy a family pack of steaks (Usually three of them in a pack.) and I freeze them until one of us says steak sounds good tomorrow night. Then I'll thaw a couple of them and make them the next evening with some type of potatoes, onions and homemade rolls. (We have half a dozen New York Strip steaks in the freezer right now if you feel like coming over for dinner with us.

Even after all those filet mignons I ate, those New York strip steaks sound good. I'll head out now.
How do you like your steak cooked? I like mine medium rare.

We just had a new chicken wing restaurant open nearby, I might check them out tonight and see if they are any good.

@Deepizzaguy My doctor recently told me that cutting out bread (which has lots of carbs) will help keep my blood pressure down. So, less sandwiches for me, since I don't really eat much bread otherwise.

@moffittjc It has to homemade fried chicken and fried potatoes. I know it seems simple, but it just doesn’t get better to me. And for dessert, a nice tiramisu.

Thanks for the b-day wish! I am a tried and true steak lover. I’m not sure I could ever get tired of eating it, especially filet mignon. Maybe lesser quality steaks, but definitely not filet mignon!

Thank you for the birthday wish!
I wish I could drink milk like you do, but I'm lactose intolerant. I do drink a lot of oat milk, but it's not quite the same.
I'm glad you enjoy steak as much as I do!

Happy Birthday I mean steak days. I have to say that looks delicious but sadly I can't eat it like l did before so it is wasted on me. I have to have child portions of everything something not quite so filling!

I’d die if I had to eat child size portions. Either that or I’d eat 50 meals a day!

4 times ….you are a lucky boy ….
Happy Birthday by the way…..
Yes, you are right , some things are special and if you have them all the time they are not special anymore ….maybe leave the steaks for a few weeks ….

I wouldn’t mind eating steak many days in one week. I had lamb shoulder chops four days in a row this week. Each chop was big so one a day. They were pasture raised and I didn’t want to freeze any of them.

My only concern would be I'd some trouble on the pot after that much beef. You know, the grinders don't work like they used to. lol
That being said, while I love steak, I rarely eat it out. Usually, I have salmon. I am not sure I could get too much of that.

Salmon is another good one. I eat it at least once a week. I probably could be content the rest of my life just eating steak and salmon.
I didn't notice any difference in my usual bathroom frequency after all that steak, so I guess it didn't affect my pipes like it does yours.
Now, Mexican food on the other hand, keeps me running for the bathroom!

You need the protein and vitamins in steak. You can lay low on eating it for a while and balance things out.
And I'll be right over to take you out for another one.
Hope you had a great birthday!

lol Happy Belated Birthday!! My mother and I have been eating Reese's cups and cake pops. She says she is burned out on the cake pops and couldn't stop eating the Reese's cups. I decided to get anymore until next month.

A very happy belated birthday to you. How lovely that your friends treated you to so many steaks. We stayed at a hotel once for a conference and breakast was provided so I was having smoked salmon. After a few days it didn't seem as tempting as at the beginning.

Thanks for the birthday wish! I did have a great time celebrating. Smoked salmon sounds absolutely heavenly. I do eat salmon quite a bit (at least once a week), but any more frequently it would probably not be as appealing. I'm sure it's the same way with steak.
