Does food taste better when other people cook it?

I’ve been making my own soft tacos for about a week, and I’ve yet to get tired of them. When I went to my dad’s this morning, I stayed until about 11:45am so I ate some of what she had been cooking. She made hard shell tacos. They were delicious! She puts cumin in her meat mixture, and I don’t, but I wondered if that was the only difference. I just started to wonder, if you and the person feeding you are both good cooks, is it just going to taste better because you don’t have to cook it?

Sometimes it tastes better because it is seasoned with love. I like cumin in my chicken taco meat, beef too, I guess. I learned to appreciate Mexican food made from scratch when I worked in a family owned restaurant.

When iw as in high school and I would learn some recipe (desserts) from our Home Economics class, I would usually prepare them at home. My brother would devour it. I would never touch it.

I prefer my own cooking, or that of my hubby. If I could time travel back to when my Gramma was alive, I would do that, as her gravy was THE best in the world.

I think I always enjoy when someone else cooks not that I don't enjoy my own concoctions. Just a small change in the tacos probably made your taste buds smile.

Overall, yes. But there are some things that I won't eat anymore unless I make or supervise the cooking.

That's a very good question. Never thought of that. It is nice to have someone else cook, so that could make it taste better. But being picky, I like to control my own food lol.

I cook a lot but I'm not the best cook in the world. Personally, I find food more tasty when it is prepared by someone else

I don't like eating food cooked by me but I enjoying watching my family happily eating it. But when it's almost gone that's when I started like want to eat it. Seriously, in some cases food cooked by others really does taste good.

No, usually not, usually the food I cooked was always better than what my mother or my MiL prepared. The only exception is when one of my cousin cooks, he is a professional Chef. He really is a great chef.
