Delivered at last, it took almost three weeks!!

Some of you may recall I wrote recently about some legal papers we sent to my son’s lawyer. This disability business takes forever! Anyway, although I sent the papers via Priority Mail and also registered, so that they had to be signed for, they were finally delivered today!!!
I had contacted our Congressman. We did all we could do and all we could find out was that they were waiting in some mail bin to be delivered. And today, after three weeks, they finally were!!! Oh, and this particular lawyer is only about 90 miles from my home.
Unacceptably poor service, yes. But they finally arrived!! We are so relieved.
Are you going to send out Christmas cards this year? You might want to start on them and at least mail them by the 4th of July!!
We are currently having a whopper thunderstorm so the power will probably go out yet again. They are still working on it from that long outage we had the other night. Just wanted to share the good news about the missing legal papers. We are so relieved!

I checked to be sure, from my home to their office is 93 miles. In that length of time. crippled or not, I think I could have walked there AND back home again. Really, really bad service.

The service is too bad to not say anything about it. We deserve better postal service.

I’m so glad they arrived! You know I’m with you on my ire for the disability process, but also the USPS. They lost my Christmas card business when they stole from me so now Amazon gets it. I will now send them via free shipping to the recipient, and include a message inside. The post office makes me want to cuss.

One of my friends here sent her daughter a card with a $100 gift card in it. The envelope arrived yesterday...opened, and of course the gift card was gone. It's nuts. I am on Team ''do not use USPS'' unless you are ready for a disaster! And be ready for a nightmare.
Thanks so much, Amber.

@MarieCoyle The same thing happened to my mom sending something to my sister only it was a $75 gift card. My brother-in-law called their post office, irate.

I grew up with the USPS having a stellar reputation for accuracy and honesty. Um...not anymore.

That is really good. I hope you didn't miss any kind of deadline with that buffoonery from the Post Office.

Snowy, since I have the receipts for registered mail and Priority Mail, I sent them pictures of the receipts. The lawyer and the powers that be at SSI decided that we had more than made the deadline and accepted the paperwork. We are so very thankful!!

I'm sure glad we don't have such awful mail here as you seem to have. We've been very lucky in that regard and I hope it continues. So the delay was at the mail delivery end and not the legal office?

The delays were totally the fault of the USPS. You are very fortunate not to have issues there. I know people in many places are having problems with them.

@MarieCoyle Yes, I can only imagine the relief that you feel knowing that the papers have been delivered.
Do you have a 3 in 1 printer?
You can make copies of things on there if this comes up again.

That particular storm wasn’t too bad. We are to have an evening and night of off and on storms.
We are so thankful the papers were delivered!! Thank you, Julia.

I'm glad you got them there, and they weren't stolen or tampered with. Next time, just use regular mail, while the peace of mind is nice, it's less likely to go missing or get lost, if you don't draw attention to it.

I am so glad those papers finally arrived. A big WHEW!!
I recently wrote about sending a package which was going from my home in Pennsylvania to someone in Wisconsin and it went all around the mulberry bush including a tour of Puerto Rico before it finally reached it's destination in Wisconsin (also Priority Mail)
Sending Christmas cards now is a smart idea and add to the fact that postage is going up again in July.
