I can't stand UFC, any kind of boxing and wrestling. I know there are people who like it but for those who like it, you have to admit it is highly tacky and classless for Trump to have that UFC fight on the White House Lawn for his 80th birthday.
The White House is not an appropriate place to have a sports show. It is a very important place. Trump is making the place cheap, like ancient Roman Gladiators.
No other President has done something like this.
It is embarrasing. I bet most of the world are shaking their heads.

I did read there is a possibility of thunderstorms which could cause a problem for the event because of it being outdoors. If that happens and it ruins it, it will serve him right.

I am an independent but I do lean left and if a democrat did this, the country would be burning to the ground. One good news is he canceled the concert and is now deemed as political rally. Musicians wanted no part of this other than Kid Rock, he may be there. Who are the fighters, can't be any one serious, Ronda Rousy will not even go to that crap or will she if Trump can get her more money. So sad they did this to our country.

@LeaPea2417 They would literally burn buildings to the ground. funny how whole thing works when you get to the nuts and bolts. Republicans can get away with pretty much anything but if Democrats did the same thing they would be viewed as terrorists.

Yes. If a Dem did this, can you imagine if Obama did this? The Right would be protesting in the streets.

@wolfgirl569 yes, delayed and it is sickening how some of the journalists on Fox News attended and thought it was good.

He has turned the historic beautiful White House into a cheap tacky looking disaster. Complete with more tacky gold filigree everywhere and a fighting cage. Destroyed the Rose Garden. Makes my heart hurt.

@AmbiePam I agree, and what sickens me are some of those Fox Journalists who act like they have Christian values attended the event.

I agree with you 1,000%. Lacks the class that the White House should have.

I guess history is hard for some people. Take former president Lyndon B. Johnson. He turned the White House lawn into a literal county fair complete with carnival rides, games, and farm animals in 1967.
Former President Barack Obama hosted a full civic innovation festival with filmmakers, musicians, activists and tech demos, and was conducted like a cultural expo.
When it comes to boxing and martial arts demonstrations on the White House lawn, this has actually been quite popular over the years. Theodore Roosevelt hosted both wrestling AND judo exhibitions. Barack Obama hosted martial arts and boxing.
Needless to say, what Trump is doing is nothing out of the ordinary, not even unusual, and not as tacky as one might want to believe...
Because again...history, you know.

I didn't know those things from history. I still think it is tacky for Trump to it and the other Presidents that did their events.

@LeaPea2417 The point is people are unfairly judging the president without knowing what they are talking about, mostly because they have been told he's a bad guy by the media and people feel a need (a weird one) to hate him.
So much is made into a Trump thing, that isn't. Space Force, for example. It was not Trump's idea and was something considered many, many, many years before Trump actually formed the new military branch. And technically it was always a separate division within the Air Force. Trump just made it official.
People think Trump was the first guy to try to acquire Greenland. "Oh, he's just so crazy." Of course, the fact is, the United States has tried to acquire Greenland since the 1800s, with a couple of formal offers by past presidents in history which Denmark rejected.
Of course, the media can't paint pictures if they tell you the truth, and they know their audience won't bother to check the facts, so...
Here we are.

Trump doesn't have a lot of options. Many musical artists refused to play at his event. Also, he has decorated the WH with goddy and disgusting gold decor that has really cheapened the place. He just doesn't get it.
