Ideal Pool Temperature! / myLot

My pool has finally reached a good enough temperature for a good swim. The last 4-5 days have been brutal in the high 90's, the only good thing about last weeks heat wave is that me pool heated up to 78 degrees and it felt amazing to swim in over the weekend. I wanted to get a heater for it but was quoted around $18,000 for a heater for my inground pool. Safe to say I wont be needing it anymore lol. My son and I spent our entire Sunday swimming around and relaxing. Image is my own, me and Jr enjoying our pool. Hope you all had a good weekend!

I would have been in the pool here if I had one. When it gets as stinking hot as it has been...the lake here is not nice to swim in. I would pretty much guarantee it is nasty right now. It should be decent by the weekend hopefully. I wonder why pool heaters are so expensive?

The heating system needs to be ran through separate gas lines, a lot of labor plus a 100 gallon propane tank to heat it. I have a pool cover that heats it up pretty nice

Yeah its nice for sure, its a salt water pool so no chlorine burning our eyes lol

I know that the heating system for a large pool is very expensive, this is why we had a hot tub in Switzerland, we could not use it many months a year.

It was a mostly quiet weekend here. Storms on Friday and Saturday night stopped people from shooting off fireworks. I checked outside and only saw a few pieces in our yard we needed to pick up. (Pretty did that yesterday afternoon after she got home from getting her teeth cleaned.) I wouldn't mind getting another aboveground pool for this house. We had a nice one at our last house but couldn't keep neighbors and dogs out of it. I finally gave it away. This yard isn't open for neighbors or dogs so we wouldn't have that problem here.

I started with a 32 foot oval above ground and it was nice but the liners would have to get changed every soo often. I figured I bought my forever home might as well get an inground lol no complaints other than my light bill that spikes to around $500 a month during the summer

@BACONSTRIPSXXX Well, yeah... You gotta pay for the pool to circulate the water, keep it clean and add pool chemicals to it. To me, that's not bad for what you get out of it.

Must be lovely to have your own pool. Here the best I can manage is a swim in the nearest open air pool, and I admit I did have a lovely time there today when there were only seven other people there, and five of those were not swimming!
