New Laptop...

Pretty was looking through the Walmart offerings online since this is Tax-Free Weekend. (This is the weekend for parents' to buy school supplies for kids returning to school soon.) Pretty has been telling me that if I need something, this is the time to buy it. We put some thought into buying some new clothes and a few other items we've wanted... I bought some new underwear since I've lost enough weight that my underwear and short pants will fall off if I'm not careful as well as several new pairs of jean shorts and looked at a new laptop but didn't think we had the money for that.
Our doorbell rang a few minutes ago and Pretty came back inside carrying the new laptop I was looking at online. 
She said since we were ordering things, she went ahead and bought the laptop, too. My brother just dropped everything off but didn't come inside. He told her he needed to get home with their purchases, too.

@LadyDuck Yes, it is. Now, I just have to find the time to set the new laptop up and leave both laptops alone until everything is done.

My dear mother of blessed memory used to say that she had to be careful with what she said around me or I’d get it for her. Sounds like Pretty is the same way.

That’s such a sweet surprise! It sounds like Pretty knew exactly what you needed and decided that if you were already taking advantage of the tax-free weekend, the laptop was worth adding to the order. ??

Thanks and yes, I think so... I was getting a little skittish about walking by the windows facing the newer neighbors' house. Our curtains on that side are a type of mesh that can easily be seen through...

@lovebuglena Between four and five years old but it's wearing out. Not only do I spend a lot of time online every day but I also have it reading to me or playing YT videos while I sleep. I only shut it off when it starts slowing down so it can do a self-clean.

Thanks. And yes, it is.
The laptop I'm using now is only about 4 years old but I've worn it out. It runs almost constantly since I listen to it reading to me or listen to YT videos even when I'm sleeping or can't see.
Last week we didn't think this one was going to restart after I needed to shut it down. Thankfully, it doesn't matter anymore if it restarts again.

Thanks. Pretty saw I hadn't opened the new laptop yet and opened it to make sure it was all there. Then left if spread all over my bed. I didn't want to explain that I couldn't remember how to set it up or transfer my stuff from my old computer right now. (That's too embarrassing when I KNOW I should know how to do that since I did it all the time while I was at Walmart.) I just moved everything over to the side of my bed and left it alone.
Hopefully, when I get home from the hospital, I'll remember how to do that and can take care of it then.
