I worked in a million dollar drug store The million dollar drug store made a million dollars during the ber months. The store I worked in was busy all the time. It was near a couple of hospitals so the pharmacy was always busy to since we were open for 24 hours. Of course the pharmacy did not count toward the million dollar sales. I loved the ber months because of the money that I made working lots of hours and working lots of holidays for the time and a half. Yes I was money hungry back than. After all my husband and I were supporting six children. To me the ber months were also fun months. What do you think of the ber months.

The only thing I miss about my working days is the people. Many of them are still in my life, some have moved on to other things, but I did work with great people. I doubt you were money hungry, Judy. Six kids is a lot to provide for.

It was and I got swim passes for each one during the summer. They went roller skating and each one did sports.

@jstory07 When you have kids it's best to keep them busy if possible, that was a good thing.

With six kids, I’m sure you needed that money. I welcome the ber months because eventually (not right now) they bring cooler weather.

You frequently worked overtime then.I wonder why they did not count toward the million dollar sales.

The answer takes us back to ancient Rome. The suffix “-ber” in September, October, November, and December comes from the Latin word “mensis,” meaning month. Back then, the Roman calendar began in March, which made these months the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth of the year

I understand very well why you were money hungry, supporting six children is not easy and you need a lot of money.

I'm a fan of the 'ber' months....cooler weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some of our stores have already started putting out the holiday stuff.
