Bob was grumpy and sleepy when I got there, but he went to lunch and that helped. I think he was dehydrated.
Today was the day for the September birthday celebration. All the different resident wings can go if they like. Bob wanted to go. He had two servings of cake and ice cream and really enjoyed the musical trio we had. Two nice gentlemen played guitar and a lady played the bass violin, or double bass as I have heard it called. Bob really like it. It was bluegrass type music. Winfield is home to a yearly blue grass music festival.
One of the residents asked if he could come up and sing and they said "yes". The resident said he used to play guitar.
People are kind at the Veteran's Home. It was nice to see Bob tapping along to the music.

Absolutely. Music really can bring people together, and I can imagine it helped make the new environment feel a little easier for him.

It sounds like Bob had a much better day in the end. It is lovely that the music, cake and company helped lift his mood. Sometimes a simple afternoon like that can make such a difference.
