We had a small visitor this morning

This morning, I went out the door into the retirement village area and was met by this little dog. She was very sweet if a bit shy so we invited her in. She wasn’t very keen about having her photo taken but Vince was able to take this one and we posted it on the village Facebook page.
I’ve met most of the dogs from the village but several look just like this. It’s one of the popular mixes of something and poodle, possibly a cavoodle. I think the other breed here is probably a cavalier King Charles spaniel. Having the poodle component often means the fur is hypo-allergenic and doesn’t affect those allergic to dogs.
It wasn’t long and someone contacted us saying it was their Pippa and they were on their way to pick her up. I wonder if one day she’ll come visiting again.

Sadly I see far too many pups like her on my FB page.
I wouldn't want a small pup because they can escape easier than a larger one.

If she wanders she should have a collar with an ID tag. That is the kind of dog that could be stolen as well. I am sure it isn't going to happen there, but who knows where it could?

The last time a neighbor's dog visited us, I stepped outside and told it to go home. It started advancing on me, growling. I stepped back inside the house and called the dog pound to come and get it.
Most dogs like me but that one sure didn't!

Aww, I’m glad Pippa was found so quickly! She sounds like such a sweet little dog. Hopefully she’ll come visiting again sometime.

Bichon frise and poodle are considered an almost hypoallergenic breed because they don't shed much unlike other breeds.
That's why I got a Bichon frise.
