The other day when the activities director saw where Bob was sitting for meals she brought a hummingbird feeder that sticks to the window and placed it for him.
Every day there is a very tiny hummingbird that comes by. I think it is a Calliope hummingbird.
Doing my research because of this little guest I learned that the only hummingbird that is native to Kansas is the Ruby Throated hummingbird, but that there are eleven species, including the Calliope, that migrate through Kansas in the summer and fall.
There are other feeders on the window as well.
The meals are entertaining.

How nice. I hope he gets to see some hummingbirds. It is quite an experience. They are dropping in numbers in some areas.

I hope they aren't too small/fast for Bob to enjoy while he eats.

That’s so nice, hanging the hummingbird feeder. Maybe after the hummingbirds migrate it can be changed to a bird feeder for the birds that don’t migrate. It sounds like a pleasant place for him to be…but I know it’s hard for you.

I wish I could have hummingbirds here but my cats would probably get ahold of one.
