Giving a Little Thanks

Anyone got anything they are thankful for today? I’m thankful for how well the appointment with my primary care went. I mentioned to her despite increasing my protein my energy was low, and she asked if I wanted to see a nutritionist. I jumped on that; I never thought my insurance would pay for it. Hopefully, it’s not like the kooky one Loo got stuck with fairly recently. And she DID say she would do the pain management referral, but she had to order a X-ray, get the results, followed by an MRI. I totally forgot about the insurance requiring that. If you want to switch pain management, insurance wants imaging done within the last six months. Never mind I had it done a year ago, or that it has gotten progressively worse since the car accident at 18, the insurance must have proof I haven’t miraculously been healed. Anyway, that’s really not a big deal as I know where the place is, and they are pretty prompt on getting Xrays and MRIs set up and done. *overhead picture of my stepmom’s coffee table

Glad the nutritionist thing worked out, thats a nice surprise when insurance actually covers it... hope it goes better than Loo's. Sounds like you earned a good win after all the imaging hoops, fingers crossed the MRI gets scheduled asap.

@Juliaacv That’s special. I was a little worried when you said she wasn’t liking school. You guys did a great job helping her to adjust.

@AmbiePam Thanks. My heart broke for her a month ago when she was so sad and only wanted to be home. But I knew in time, she would learn to enjoy school. I told her just to be her, and she will be appreciated and loved, and she is. She is such a pleasant child, and those words were echoed in the report card from her teacher.

Happy to hear that you will get the referral. I'm not thankful about anything today. I am in a very crabby mood.

Well hopefully it is a good nutritionist... And that sounds like a mess to deal with switching pain management and needing all that done to do it

It is annoying, but I’ve had to do it so many times I should be hsed to it. The problem is with the Xrays. Courtney, he presses on your stomach, poking around to find the right spot to place the overhead Xray (you’re laying down), and every time I have to try to not pass gas. I mean, I’m absolutely fine until he starts pressing around!

@AmbiePam well still, shouldn't have to! Never had that kind of x-ray, but that's interesting to know. But I understand that lol, of course it happens then, right?

I'm thankful that I got a few things done today, though now I am paying for it. Guess I shouldn't have gone out when I had--whatever I have--but I'm home, now. Thankful for that, too.

Going to a nutritionist is a good idea. I hope it works out well for you. Do you have to pay for the MRI and X-ray?

No, the insurance will pay for it. I wouldn’t be able to afford it myself. I complain about insurance, but I’m grateful for what they do cover.

Most times I come out of medical appointments with a smile as I start with limited expectations with uncertainty playing its part too. . It is Godsend when we meet the right staff who put us at ease and even go the extra distance. Happy that all is well covered by insurance. Nice picture too to give a smile.
