SaraCate responded to a discussion called What do you EAT for breakfast? in health.
In our home, we make sure to always eat*some* breakfast, even when we don't feel very hungry. We eat all types of food for breakfast, but very little cold cereal. This morning was homemade whole wheat blueberry muffins, which is a pretty traditional breakfst food here. I like oatmeal, usually with a little fruit and cream, ground flaxseed, and sometimes some chopped nuts. We also eat eggs, ...

SaraCate responded to a discussion called Do you ever make homemade blueberry waffles? in cooking.

I have to second Gerty's comments about making waffles with 'healthy stuff.' We always do use half whole wheat flour here in muffines, waffles, and pancakes, and they are far more filling - not to mention higher protein, fiber, etc. Another thought I've not seen yet in this thread - I almost always make more than a single batch of waffles or pancakes. Homemade muffins or fruit bars are good choices, especially made with whole grains, as the ex...

The 'lite whipped topping' products may be better for caloric intake, but dietary health is so much more than calories. I couldn't recommend whipped toppings as a 'healthy' alternative for the amount of additives, preservatives, etc.~...

Does anyone here NOT shop at Wal-Mart?

I'm curious. I'm participating in another discussion re:Wal-Mart, and I seem to be the only dissenter. No hard feelings; to each his own. But I am wondering if anyone here avoids Wal-Mart and your...
