Eclipse likes dog treats..

Sleepy Turbo - Doesn't have anything to do with the discussion, I know.. but I had to share this pic I caught of Turbo sleeping on the sofa with hubby :)

Hubby has been spending a few minutes a day trying to train the new puppy. He's starting with simple commands like sit and shake and lie down. So hubby will grab our bag of training treats and get down on the floor to train the dog. Yesterday when he did this Eclipse (our big, fuzzy cat) went up to him instead of the dog. The dog is still a bit nervous about the cats.. so the dog steered clear while the cat was near hubby. Hubby was holding a dog treat in his hand trying to get the dog near him.. but Eclipse started sniffing the treat, and took it out of hubby's hand and ate it! Then he looked at hubby for another treat! Hubby ended up going in another room to train the dog, and Eclipse did not follow! Goofy cat! Do your cats like dog treats?

The dogs don't get treats for the cats to share, but they're brave enough to try and take bones off the dogs sometimes. They must be mental!

They must be! I don't think I'd even try that!

I have seen dogs who like cat treats, so I guess I could see it going the other way. The problem is getting a cat to do a trick for the treat.

Hi there katsmeow1213, this is a cute and funny story indeed! :) Though this is the first time I've heard of a cat wanting a doggie's treats, I have seen a video of a dog being scolded for eating cat treats. xD I guess these animals are really just curious about food in general and don't really make a distinction between "the cat's" and "the dog's" stuff. :D

hi katsmewo yes when we had our house and a cat and dog the cat Midnight was always pushing in trying to get Pats doggie treat no matter to her it was for the dog Pat. shame on her lol.I was so heart broken when after selling our house we had to settle for renting as we could no longer have pets.So my mom got my cat and our friends who loved our dog Pat took her as they would give her a good home.

LOL now that is funny. I have never had cats and dogs at the same time. Normally if I had a cat I did not have a dog and now that I have a dog I don't have a cat. I know that my dog will eat almost any treat given to her. The poor thing, I don't know if she really has tastebuds.
