I spend a lot of time here, but I consider it leisure time, not work time. I make more in a day at my regular job than I make in a month on mylot. *shrugs* Before mylot, I spent hours posting in forums anyway because I enjoy it, and not making a penny for my efforts, so I consider this a plus. I think the most I've ever made per month on mylot was around $40. The problem is that to an extent we can't control what we make here, because it has so much to do with mylot's revenue. They're paying less in general now than they did when I joined, and there's nothing I can do about that, so even if my participation is the same, I'm going to make less. I won't complain as long as I'm making payout every month though, because it's money for something I've done for free before anyways. The best advice I can give anyone is to focus on post quality. It's better to make a few really good posts than a lot of one-liners. I've seen so many discussions with people asking why they don't make anything for their responses to other people's discussions, but when I go look at those responses they are always very short, or off-topic, or just plain incoherent. Mylot doesn't pay for posts they don't see as quality.

Exactly! I can't tell you how many forums I've been on in my life! I like chatting too, but forums fit my lifestyle because I can start something, walk away from it, and come back without really having missed anything. Mylot is just like free money to me since I would do forums either way. :) I'm sure I'd be making a lot more if I bothered to do the referral thing. When I first started, I did make an effort to make referrals, but right now I've got fifty and only one of them EVER logs on, and even she I only occasionally get a penny from. I'm sure if I worked harder at it, it might pay off for me, but I'd rather just post and have fun and not worry about it.

U were right as u have said that through referral it hard to earn money becoz u bring horse to the water but it is horse which have to drink the water... Same way u have to think about the active referral as it hard to get. When u find one they would not like to work for u...... When they know about this site then would make an Id and not use under ur referral as any person would not like... If a person is working hard and part of his protion is getting to other without even having to work atall i.e.20% Of your hard work would go to him... So he would not be under ur referral.... But u hav to be active all the time so as to earn.... But if take into consideration that if u dont think of earning would actually post good message and u would not worry about the money earning.... Thats why when i post message most of them are person who are above 500 post who have the capacity to just copy and paste but...they never do that becoz hear it is the quality that mattersa lot....

I agree with lecanis. With myLot you are getting paid for doing things you weren't getting paid for before. I used to visit forums and chat sites and participate giving my opinions and askng questions I wanted answers for. I never got paid for those things I did. But myLot compensates me for things I do on a daily basis. I take it as a bonus. Also I believe if you want to make some change with myLot then you have to really recruit an army of thousands of referrals and hope that they actively participate in the program. Then I believe you can make a few hundred dollars here.

When I first joined mylot back in June I quit after 2 weeks because I thought that very same thing as you about the pennies being made. Then it hit me one day I was spending my time at other sites for free or watching tv for free or chatting with others on myspace for free. Get my point? On mylot I am learning from others by chatting about the things that interest me and the best part, MYLOT PAYS US! I dont think of mylot as a place to earn but as a place to learn to earn. Take care

I love that response Sergeant! Everyday when I log in to Mylot, I read so many grievances about the payment being paltry and so on and it simply makes me sad yet more resolute to stick on to this place with all my friends. I love Mylot. I could have made extra money on very many sites, but this is the only place I know of, where I can actually interact with people from all over the world. This is something I never expected to do ever in my life. I never thought that an international forum like this actually exists for ordinary people like us. And the most valuable lesson these interactions have taught me is that no matter where we are, how we are, what we do…as humans our basic problems are same, our joys, our sorrows, our success our failures and our common destiny. Sometimes I seriously feel like giving a negative rating (I haven’t ever done this though) to whosoever lambasts Mylot for the meager payout.

Wow, that was a mouthful! Very good points you brought up too. I hope mylot realizes what a true fan you are. I never even thought of talking to people internationally. Like I said before, I am constantly learning here on mylot. Thanks so much for your great comment.

It took me over four months months to reach payout without any referrals. Only in the last week have I gotten any referrals, 3 so far but they aren't making a lot for me now. I have mylot up anyway while I'm doing other stuff online so I have it on pretty much all day and will pop in here and there to post. I usually try to make at least 10 posts a day. If you don't have a lot of referrals it will take longer to reach payout. Seeing that you only have 68 posts you have a long way to go.

I know it will take longer for me to get to payout... As I have just reached 69 post but most of them are not even having more than 10response which makes it much difficulty. As you have to think best of the things around you and ur environment.... So that u can be able to attract the interest of the particular thing... I have tried more things here.... Does ranks and level help in gaining more money.... But I have understood one thing hear is that i am here not to make money but to make friends and post quality message.. Mylot also helps to share others thoughts. As am not fully into it...but i make it a point to post around 10-15post every day and answer to others in the same manner around 10-15 I have learnt one thing here is that Slow and Steady wins the race......

you should not look at myLot as a place to make money, that is just an extra. It will never be enough to make a good living or even an extra $100 a month will not be possible. I like myLot to make new friends and learn about what other people think. It is better to be here just for fun

After reading to many....I have actually realised that its not a site where u can earn lots of money but u can still enhance your knowledge and other aspects of life. you could easily judge your answer with others...Becoz everyone have their own thinking and aspect of viewing an object altogether.

I think it's probably better to look on myLot purely as a discussion forum and the money is just an added bonus. In truth there is not a lot of money to be made on here unless you plan to spend hours and hours every day doing it. If you do have that sort of free time then there are probably better ways to spend it if making money is a major concern for you. I've been a member for more than a year and most months I don't even make payout and I would say I'm moderately active on myLot. I usually spend about an hour every day on here, sometimes more but sometimes less, just depends how much free time I have.

Hi you won't ever make a fortune on this site it isn't like that. If you want to make money on the internet you need to look at things like paid blog sites, paid auctions, paid emails and mix a combination of those things and make your own website you can promote for people to join under you if you do this you will make money whilst also earning referrals. Hope this helps and a Happy New Year to you and your family.

I spend about half a hour a day, most days after all my other work which is better paying is done. I also earn a couple of cents a day. The most I've ever earned in one day here is 27 cents. I'm here more for the community than the money. I like answering questions and posting them; I think it's totally worth it at least for me.

There are several earn online programs I'd never heard of before joining myLot and several more that I had joined but was not using much. Since myLottians are always discussing ways to earn online, even if we didn't get paid per post, I would regard membership here as advantageous. As others have said, many come here for relaxation and to get the juices flowing. It pays better than Club Pogo, for sure, unless you hit the jackpot! If I actually clocked the time I spend here I'd probably be horrified, but it is something I sneak in while waiting for other pages to load or while thinking about other work I'm doing, so the time cannot really be measured like a job that pays an hourly fee. If it did, the pay would probably come out to something like 20 cents an hour whereas a job for someone with the skills and education of many myLottians would easily pay 300 times that amount. I like that it pays something, though. That adds an element of fun.

Hardwork and perseverance are needed if you want to earn more here in mylot. Personally, I spent around two to three hours a day when responding and participating in some discussions that attract me most. You can really earn money here if you're just participating actively here. For now, I advised that you respond, create your own topics, upload pictures, and refer friends as well. :-)

Hi amrin2007, If you are trying to earn money through mylot, you are doing something wrong because it is not at all worth spending some hours just for few cents. However, instead of wasting your precious time for nothing, mylot is really good because at least it gives you few cents, and those few cents will become a few $$ in a year. Besides, from this site you can gain lots of knowledge through others. Well, I spend very little time in this site, but almost every day. I just enjoy reading and responding few discussions daily. As I go into the site, I have no intension of earning good money from it. Cheers!!!

Hi amrin2007, Happy New Year. I have spent quite a lot of time on mylot since becoming a memeber. It really is something that I enjoy doing in my spare time. The "pennies for my thoughts" aren't so bad. If you want to have a way to make more money quicker, you may want to get with other mylot users who have information on other ways to use the net to make more money. Do a little research for yourself, check out relevant discussions and interests. Have you considered blogging? It can be very lucrative in your quest to make money while expressing yourself. Take Care.

Hello again amrin2007, Everyone has their motives and try to or not to participate in sincere discussions, but I think that the "pennies for your thoughts" are a good way to get people to try mylot. I think people like to express what is on their minds, and mylot tries to make that possible. We can discuss things with people and try to judge the responses and the discussions itself as meaningful or a waste of time, but either way, you and many others if I am not mistaken, are looking to do it in a way that is beneficial. I hope you reap many benefits here, whether it is friendship, knowledge, enlightenment, and/or a few pennies. Take Care.

I am earning a little money here on mylot but not as much as I hoped to. I only have 2 referrals and they are not helping. I add comments to about 5-8 post a day when I have time. I hope to reach payout by the end of the month. After that I am not sure how much I will be on here. We will have to see.

1. Get people to write under you. 2. I was spending a couple of hours a day, but I had a car accident. 3. Probably use more in electricity than I make here, so in some ways it may not be worth it. 4. I've made some great friends here and they are worth it. 5. I haven't really been able to make $ any other ways beside a part time job that may or may not continue after the holidays.

I have not looked at mylot as a fast easy way to make money. I see it as a way to earn some extra cash (any little bit helps) while being able to post which is what I do anyways. I am sure if I find a refferal or two I could make some money but at the moment I am ok with just making pennies for a post.

Mylot was never established for someone to make quick, easy, good money. Mylot was established just to give people a site to discuss- and it just so happens, they pay while doing it. If you honestly would like to make money on other legit money making sites- then you should take a look at my profile. On there, you will find a list of other legit money making sites that have already paid me several times =].

It helps if you answer discussions in your interest zone and provide lenghty explanations to solve problems. That way you become more popular.
