I have a really small lily.

Blackberry lily - This colorful spotted lily is actually only about the size of a quarter, or a little larger, not as large as a half dollar. I started with one plant, years ago. Some years there seem to be several plants, last year I had plants, but no blooms, this year, I have three plants that have been having a sequence of blooms. Five or six total per plant.

I have a lily called a blackberry lily grown in a container. The bloom is just a little bit larger than a quarter and the leaves remind me of a gladiolus. The flowers die off and leaves a little black berry in its place. The berries fall to the ground and will eventually grow a plant, that has a bulb. Is this the smallest lily you have seen?

THat is so very pretty :):):):) It's things like that one that make me wish I was better with plants. Of course I love lilies a lot, they're my second favorites, right after orchids which are my super favorite flowers:)

You did a fabulous job of discribing your small lily. I read this thinking I only wish I had the right words to express myself the way you did. Pictures are nice naturally but could see the lily without the picture. You're gifted. No I have never seen a lily so small as yours. It's a keeper for sure.

It is outside, in a half barrel plastic container. I think I got it at a nursery a few years back.

I had forgotten about the pod for the seeds, and no wonder it looks like glad or iris leaves, it is related to the iris. I think I will save seed this year. I did not have any bloom last year.

As I said above, I logged out of hubby's account, into mine, then I answered from my e-mail link, and it still ended up that my husband supposedly answered you, but it was me.

Very pretty little lily! I don't believe I've ever seen that kind of lily before. How unusual that it leaves a little berry when its flower is spent. I don't think I've ever seen any lily that small, I'll have to look in my horticulture manual and see if it's in there. Did you get it as a gift? It looks like it'd make a super container plant!

How lovely! I would love to have a few of these plants. There are spots that need perking up and a smaller version of a lily would be great. I'll have to see if any of the local nurseries carries them.

I have to say that is the smallest lily I have ever seen but I am by far from a green thumb so I am sure there is a LOT that I have not seen that is out there. I am hoping by meeting new friends like yourself that have different interests than what I have I will be able to learn all kinds of new things! Thanks Zelo

That is gorgeous! I don't think I've ever seen a flower like that before. And what a background it has. It has quite a neat future ahead in its pretty life span.

It is really small and cute. You could have alot of those around and they wouldnt take up too much room. I've got a mysterious flower in my flower bed which I thougt was a tulip but it looks like something else. I dont remeber planting it. It just seemed to come up all by itself. It actually looks more like an iris instead of a tulip but it is like a fuschia color. It is pretty but it's kind of a mystery flower.
