Have you ever wondered how so many people live Frugally and on FREEBIES? Well, an owner of a blog I read "Freebies4mom" was interviewd by Inside Edition and they taped her taking her mail out of her mailbox! The episode airs this Wednesday. Check your local listings for times. It is titled "A Woman Who Lives On Freebies" I'm excited for her and am trying to get my blog to be as popular as her's. lol I set my DVR to record it so I won't forget. Maybe we'll learn some great tips! lol

It should be interesting. I would also like to find more places to obtain free things, but it seems like many either want you to subscribe to something or pay at least shipping and handling and don't end up being free.

I will have to look that up to see when it airs. I always wondered how folks get so many freebies; I think I do fairly well but some people stock their entire houses!

Do you have that "America's Cheapest Family" book, if no you should get a copy. I found some of the tips to be very helpful...May be better to get a copy from the library. After you read it a few times, there probably isn't a reason to keep it around. I bought my copy online somewhere for $3 w/shipping LOL

I'm going to have to find what channel that would be on and what time because I am a huge freebie freak. I have so many sites that I go to for freebies. I have received stuff ranging from food items to DVD'S to posters and clothing and even beauty items. Thank you for such a good topic. Anyone who would like the sites I go to or signed up for feel free to add me and let me know that you want links I will send you them. Happy Mylotting.

I am completely fascinated by folks that are able to live like that. I get lots of freebies and am on many sites for such. It helps so much but I still don't come close to being able to handle all my household needs on what I get in the mail.

Blogs have all free stuff, nothing to purchase, so it is only a recommendation, not a self promotion

I find that if you live outside the US, you can't get as many freebies. I've gotten a few, though, and I tend to think that they help decrease my expenses.

I will definitely be watching. I get some freebies and love them (who doesn't?), but I can't imagine trying to live on them. Also it seems that some things are more easily available as samples than others. For example, it seems easy to get deoderant and shampoo samples, less so other products. In this day and age, when things are so tight financially, everyone can use an extra boost. And I think that manufacturers do end up benefiting. There are products I've tried (Quaker granola bars in one example that comes to mind) that I now buy when I go to the store. That's the whole point. It's a win-win for everyone! Thanks for pointing out the show and the blogs in this post. Can't wait to watch on Wednesday!

I love freebies! It helps save on money especially with a large family. Im going to ask my husband if we get Inside Edition (yeah I dont watch TV much) and try to remember to watch it. I cant imagine living off freebies, thou it would be nice! I have gotten diapers, razors, free vitamins along with the normal shampoos and deodorants. They all help that is for sure. Thanks for the heads up, hope I can watch it.

There are Tons of freebie sites, real freebies not the one's you have to pay for shipping or anything else. I'm on a big emailing list for many various freebie places And I'm always getting things daily for free in my mailbox. But I have learn that a lot of these freebie websites offer the same freebies and they seem they get their information from the same source. Lately I have seen freebie websites pop out of nowhere overnight with a lot of good stuff. But I do have to admit that half of the free stuff I sign up for I don't even receive( and I sign up for A LOT). But because of my freebie addiction I have enough toothpaste and underarm deodorant to last me a year :)

LOL isn't that the truth! I have enough also and coffee galore! lol Not all sites are scams and every one of them have something different to offer at one time or another. You just have to watch the freebies where you have to do this offer or that offer to get the freebie. Think about it if it's a FREE computer for doing an offer, do you really think you will receive it? I don't. lol

Some of those computer offers are legit but you have to spend close to $200 dollars worth of sign up offers before they send you the laptop, which is a good deal considering the computer/laptop are worth a little over $500 dollars. But that's not for me.I can't even afford the $200 . LOL

I get some freebies but I could always do better. I might see if I can find and watch that woman on TV too. It seems like there is a whole subculture of people who are getting freebies using freebies and coupons and making ends meet with them. You have to do something to survive in these tough economic times right?

I like "Freebies4Mom" I get the newsletter it's easier for me. I get a lot of freebies even though recently I haven't been extremely active but, over the winter my mailbox was so full that I would get a full box and have a big bundle on my enclosed porch as well. I also get a lot of coupons for free items and I like that as well. Thanks for announcing this because if "Freebies4Mom" said this I don't remember.

I watched the TV show on dumpster diving and I was amazed at how well they did. I think you have to have access to the kind of stores that throw out back dated items etc. Here back dated items are given to the charities. I would be happy to get more freebies in the mailbox, but every thing I sign up for on the internet just seem to bring me more spam

I watched it also. I know personally here that the stores put their food at a reduced price and if it doesn't sell, it goes in the dumpster, but NO ONE will go dumpster diving around here. lol I do certain things to be frugal, but dumpster diving is a NO NO. lol

Ok forgot about the spam part. Get a new email addy with gmail and use it for all your freebie requesting. That's what I do.

Yea there usually is some unknown good info out there in how to get by on a bunch of free or near free stuff. I actually read a book onetime that was all about getting by on the cheapest budget possible and it showed all sorts of stuff on how to get lots of coupons to signing up for free stuff over the internet over and over. It was pretty cool and in this day in age with this recession about to happen you never know what you'll need to know.

Id love to live on freebies, but I really dont think it is possible for me. I have a family of four and I get all the freebies I can find but that is no where near what we need to get by on. Id love to learn how if it was possible though.

I think living frugally is quite easy if you have previously been a student and put yourself through university. I don't know of anyone in the UK living on freebies. I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

I would love to learn more about this kinda stuff. I've been using the mysavings site for awhile now and have gotten some interesting things...as well as getting free stuff to test through survey sites. It has not made me a millionaire, but they have come in handy and saved me a few $$$ which is very nice.
