How Many Articles Per Week?

I just read an AC article where the author said he was making monthly four-digit paychecks from writing around 30 articles a week. How one would manage to pull that off is beyond me, but I am going to try to write more. How many articles can you handle?

Given all of my other responsibilities, I think one or two a week would be the most I could do (though I write even less than that). If I were able to devote more time, and had a regular schedule and topics to write about, I could probably do 2 per day. More than that and my quality would suffer.

I've been doing a little bit of research on AC to find out how everyone else is doing financially over there. Apparently, if you just write one article a day we could make a good living . . . after a while. But the point being that we have to continue writing. I agree with our quality of writing suffering if we try to just dish out any kind of article. But practice makes perfect, right? Anyway, keep writing.

WOW!!! If that`s the case, then I`ve got to get on Associated Content! Do they pay CanadiansÉ I am on Gather, with an American tax ID, and I`m making all kinds of great money from their site. I love it on Gather. Maybe not making as much money as the person on AC is, but I`m doing OK.

I'm not sure if AC pays outside the USA. I'm inclined to say yes, but don't quote me on that. I also have an account on Gather but haven't done anything there. Guess I should begin. Anyhow, have a wonderful day.

As another AC'er who is this person? I'd love to read the article, if you could pm the link to me. I don't know how one could write thirty articles a week and have them be quality articles. Do they write for upfront payment or just page views? One of my goals is to write more for AC, but I don't think I could pull off 30 a week. I could possibly do 14 if I was lucky. How about you?

For the life of me I tried finding the article and couldn't find it. I can't believe I didn't bookmark it or something. I found other articles while putting in keywords. If I find the article I will send you the link. And, btw, I think I can manage 5 articles a week, maybe ten. Thanks for stopping by.

That is amazing. I do not write articles but I have a couple of friends who do. They have never made that much that I know of.

Hi!!! How many articles??? I think that depends on my mood. 30 a week, sounds like a lot. How many do you think you can write in a week? Good luck on writing more. Take care, Groetjes Margajoe.

Hi Marga, I think 30 articles a week is way too much for me. My goal is one or two per day. Even that's pretty hard, especially when I'm such a stickler on editing and stuff. Oh well, we'll see how the year goes. How are you, my friend??? Gelukkig Niew Jaar. Or something like that.

Hi!! Gelukkig Nieuw Jaar!!! How are you? Life been treating you good I hope. One or two articles a day is good. What is that AC all about? Do you write articles for that too? Is that easy to do? With me, things are starting to look up again. My back problems are still there, but the pains are less. Maybe I am getting used to them , hahaha! But all in all I cannot complain. I like to complain, but no, I should'nt, hahaha! Take care, groetjes, Margajoe.

How many articles I could handle is directly related to inspiration. When I have something to say, the words flow easily. Given my limited experience with AC (23 published articles in just under one year), I would be hard pressed to see how anyone could be earning a four-digit paycheck on a monthly basis. If they are all for upfront payment, 30 articles at $5.00 per would be $150.00 per week/$600.00 per month. That leaves a lot of room for performance payments... To make that additional $400.00, this CP - at clout level 10 - would have to have 200,000 page views EACH MONTH! Granted, it is possible that s/he is getting more than $5.00 per article in upfront payment, but that is still a large mountain of page views to scale in order to reach $1,000.00. Of course, $10.00 is also a four digit number if you include the digits AFTER the decimal point... :)

I can't see doing more than two in a full day's work. I get up early every morning, and after 2-3 hours, my article is in submit-ready form. Then it takes a while to do the submit and all the takeaways. It's no small thing to spend time on the keywords, either. That's what brings up the article in the searches. Even my articles with the lowest hits took me hours to complete--from thought to beginning to end. Either I'm working for peanuts or I'm building a vast resource that I can be proud of and that will generate performance pay into the future. I'd like to think it's the latter.

Yeah, it seems a difficult task indeed. But . . . even though I can't find the article back I believe the page views were already way over one million. Can you believe. Anyhow, I used to make $15 per article. I don't know why AC offer went down so much. Must be the amount of people signing up. Sigh. Keep writing, Thor.

My best upfront payment is $6.04 for my PUR water filter review. It is also doing fairly well with page views. I do plan on writing some more articles and it would be nice if I could realize even $50.00 a month on AC eventually, though I would be happy with $20.00.

I could probably do three a week right now, but I've found that it's a matter of habit or practice. I used to have to do two each week and at first it was hard, but the more I did it, the easier it came, until I could do that and write some on the side now and then. As time went on, I was writing more and more, but never 30 in one week. That sounds like a lot.

I agree . . . 30 articles seems way too many. I was doing so well with one article a day and then my computer crashed. Well, hopefully I can get back on track when I get that little thing fixed. I'm using my son's laptop right now. He's not going to be so generous for much longer. Anyhow, thanks for dropping by, Peavey. Have a wonderful weekend.

Wow... 4 digit paychecks monthly from AC? I personally cannot imagine coming up with 30 New articles a week that would easily be accepted in AC for direct payment to pay me this type of $$. I guess it you are doing this full time you might be able to write this much and make this much, but I find the site hard to earn $$ in for sure. But you will have to keep us informed if you start making some Good $$ with this site as well.

My first year there, AC declined more than they accepted. So I read the "big guys" and learned how to break up content with bold headlines, and I learned to edit articles several times--even after the piece looked perfect. The final edit I do after I see it submitted. Often I discover that I have forgotten a part of a code somewhere and everything is in bold. I find that an article needing research takes me 3 hours, all said and done. One written off my head, takes me 2 or less. I write when I'm fresh in the morning, and treat that time as work, and one article a day is doable if you have that many hours.

I write for AC and I'm a clout 8 with over 200 pieces. I write an article a day and about one per week is declined for pay...so I average only about 24 or 25 per month or about 90 bucks per month. I make another 10 or so performance pay. The average pay for an article is only about four dollars each. I think pay amounts have declined since last year. The hardest part is coming up with ideas that are not overdone, not too general, and have enough of a twist to snag their attention. If I did nothing else but write, if I pulled off 5 or 6 per day, I could maybe make a good amount per month, but there is much more than that to do. There is promoting the pieces with social bookmarking, and that takes time. There is idea generation, and you can't push that either. But the income and the potential income is why I write for AC. Getting performance pay for stuff I've already written is like residual income. I just watch it mount up. Oh, I also put my recipes and short poems on display only. They make hits too. It's great to earn a quarter per month on a simple limerick. For 2008, I was awarded top 1000 at AC. All I did was write an article per day and a few of my pieces really earned me some hits to move me up in the hit totals. There is potential at AC for earning an income, but unless you are a technical writer or have a unique niche, I'm not sure you can bring in the big bucks to make a living there. But don't rule out a supplemental income.

Thanks for the congrats! Like I said, I never knew about any award, so it didn't stress me to work for one. What happened for me was that I put up over 150 articles and display only pieces in 2008 and raised the hit amount from less than a thousand per month to at least 5-8 thousand per month. That moved me up several clouts in 6 months, and trippled my performance pay per month. Performance pay has a tremendous amount to do with either volume of pieces or search quality of pieces. What I'd like to know about that top performer, is whether he or she makes hundreds per month on performance pay or if most comes from article generation.

Thanks for the info, Jellen, and the inspiration. I'm trying to write an article a day, but it is hard to stay creative. Congrats on making the top 1000 at AC. I'll be shooting for an award like that this year. Doesn't sound so easy to do though. Anyhow, thanks for the input.

when I write for websites they ask for a batch of articles, like 20 articles, that must be done in a week, sometimes more articles, so it can be done, but it is a full time job doing this, you don't just do it in your spare time.

My goal right now is actually writing 30 a week for one site and at least 10 more for AC. I guess it depends on finding topics and how fast you write. This is my full time job, so I can spend more time on it. I've also reached the point where I usually write 3 to 4 articles per hour. So 40 articles could be done in less than 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Wow! That's pretty impressive. I do have a problem finding topics plus I just can't seem to even get one article written in an hour. 40 articles in less than 3 hours. I wouldn't know where to begin.

I tend to average one or two a month and it ends up being when i'm bored or at a loss of what to do. I have a hard time coming up with ideas of what to write.

Yeah, I seem to be the same way. Topics are hard to come by. Plus I believe in doing the research for anything I write . . . don't want to be quoting anything incorrect or mess up the facts.

I think it seems quite an interesting venture to take on however I am pretty busy on myLot trying to make a little extra cash. That sounds like a lucrative job to have. I like to do my research though before beginning to get involved in any money making things here on line.

If you write, Associated Content is one site you should check into. They pay you up front and then you get paid for each page view. MyLot is pretty good too though.

That must be a very committed writer. 30 articles a week is really a lot. Averaging 4 articles per day. Some days might have to write 5 articles. The writer must have found a way to write so much. Hope he/she can share the proven method.

Maybe he's a reporter. I mean, those reporters are trained to write and write. Even 10 or 15 articles are not a big deal for them. But for mortal folks like us, 2 articles in a day is stressful enough.

Wow! That is a lot of articles to be writing. I know that I would get burned out on writing that much and would run out of topics to write about. I am usually doing really well if I write one article a week. Sometimes I don't even log onto the site for a month if I have too much going on at work. I am going to set a goal for myself to start writing more, but I would love to get to that point of bringing in four-digit paychecks from AC! It would sure beat the feeling of living paycheck to paycheck.

I don't have enough time for that many either...and I don't think I have enough ideas. When I was actually trying over there I think I did 1 or 2 a week...but got bored real quick with that which is why I only have 4 or 5 total articles there. There was an article in our newspaper recently about a "hometown woman" who just made AC's top 100 list. According to the interview they had with her, she puts out 7 or 8 articles a day!
