Ok, I started three discussions this morning and when I went back to read through the responses, I noticed one member had put the exact same response to every discussion. I then went to their profile and low and behold there was a list of discussions they’d responded to all with the exact same response. Why do some ppl waste everyone’s time trying to cheat the system here at MyLot? I contacted MyLot and let them know and asked them to remove the three responses from my discussions b/c I don’t feel ppl should get paid to cheat. It really is sad that someone will cheat just to make a couple extra pennies. Have you ever caught someone cheating? Have you turned it in? Do you notice if someone pastes the same response over and over? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have seen that thing happen before. That person responded to all discussions with the same words. It was quite sometime ago and he is no longer a member. I think mylot admin must have banned him for spamming. Now in my recent discussion someone responded by putting in a long line of punctuations which resulted the lose of a page of responses as it affects the whole page. I have reported to mylot to ask them to remove that one particular response but it seems they have not done anything to rectify the problem.

Hi queen, To my surprise I wanted to get the link for you but find that the response with the long punctuation has already been removed and the page is now in order. Thank you for your concern

Hey Zandi! Please send me a link by pm to the page you are talking about with the excessive punctuation and I will go request that Mylot remove the offending comment from your page. Sometimes, it takes more than one member reporting a problem before they take care of an issue.

early on, I had someone respond to my discussion in some language other than English - I kid you NOT, it was absolute gibberish, not even a language I might pic a few words out of I wrote mylot staff and this post (and all their other posts) were removed - and so was the person....

I have never encountered this except for once when someone double pasted the same response in my discussion. It never bothered me as I figured it was a genuine mistake I do believe the person apologised. That is the closest irregularity I can remember. I even went back to respond to a mylotter's discussion only to find that I had double pasted. I have absoluttely no idea how that happened. I later saw another mylotter commenting that his response was double pasted so it seemed as if mylot was acting up again. This of does not seem to be what happened to the mylotter you mentioned here. It sounds as if that was a deliberate attempt to deceive.

I do not start many discussions so i really have not noticed much about that. did the response have anything to do with the discussion or was it just a generic response.

You know, it kind of reminds me of that part in "The Catcher in the Rye", where he talks about the graffiti. Yeah, i turn in cheaters whenever I see them. It's sad to see a person ruining a nice community like this by spamming to make money.

You did the correct thing by reporting the person as what they did was an infringement of the myLot guidelines. Under discussions "Donts" it says Dont •Post similar or identical postings. Stealing posts from other users or posting the same thing over and over again will not help your myLot earnings. Multiple identical postings, even if legitimate, may be considered spam. I would certainly have reported such responses.

I don't think they'll be getting paid much at all. A lot of people will probably report them and their answers will be deleted. I don't know who you're talking about, but if I came across that I'd probably roll my eyes at it too. They'll learn pretty quickly they aren't going to make much here.

So sorry, twoey68, that can be quite distrubing. Where there is a will, there is a way so I guest cheating is here to stay (except in your discussions...you go girl!).

If I see them I report them. I guess that's the one that was pointed out earlier in a discussion and there were loads and loads of discussions all with the same response copied from one to the other. They are all gone now Time wasters those are - both their own time, those that have to report them and those that have to clean up after them too

Good for you! and I see myLot's already taken care of it. It's really sad when people do things like that for a few pennies. I haven't seen any such cheaters on myLot, but noticed some on Red Gage had gotten the boot for making single word comments like "wonderful" or "beautiful" on multiple articles and pictures.

This is really awful of them. How could they even think of doing that? No, I have never caught anyone cheating but to be honest, it could be staring me in the face and I would not notice as I am not very observant. would I turn them in? Yes, I would because this is not what Mylot stands for - at least in my opinion. They are not participating in any meaningful way to a discussion. I definitely woulld have reported them too. Blessings

If you are coming here onto MyLot to earn a living, sorry but you are going to starve. Nothing like coming up with away to cheat just to make a couple of pennies.

On Gather.com, another site where I often participate, they do the same thing. We call them "genaric comments." Something like "lots of things to do, no time to stop and read, but just wanted to come in and say hi anyway" or something. Since Gather allows HTML in comments, unlike MyLot, there are loads of glitzy graphics, and such. Some people have nothing better to do. I don't respond to a comment unless I have something to say.

I agree, I don't respond to the comments unless there really is something to say. Do you report them there or do they let the posts remain?

I haven't see that kind of cheating on Mylot, but there's certainly all kinds. I'm glad they took the comments off your discussions. I didn't even think they would bother with that kind of thing. I hope that they also deleted that member's account. I don't know whether the person was new here, but I don't think it matters much if they were. They obviously thought they could take the easy way to make money, and it didn't work.

THere seems to be alot of dishonesty going on lately on this site. I have been on here for two years at least and have never faced any of these issues until recently. No one should be able to cheat anyone. THe sad part is that person must think we are idiots and wouldnt notice the same responses. Shame on HIM! HAHA THEY'LL get what they DESERVE. Thanks for sharing. dl

I've never noticed anyone doing that, but I don't start many discussions and am mostly a responder. That person is defeating the whole purpose of discussing things. About the only thing I turn in is people posting referral links--but not before I call them a selfish idiot and tell them I hope they're satisfied that now the discussion might be deleted and they robbed everyone of their earnings.

I never have caught anyone cheating. I never really pay close attention though. I would report though because alot of us put our honest input on here.
