Did Jesus actually reveal name of the 'antichrist'? ....Very Strange...?

Viral video makes Hebrew word connection to latest White House occupant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK_zh-X21f0 For centuries, many have wondered about the identity of a biblical leader who will do Satan the devil's bidding, trying to thwart the plans of Jesus Christ shortly before His prophesied return to Earth. That character has come to be known as "the antichrist," even though the Bible never uses that word to describe any single person. Now, after endless speculation suggesting Presidents John F. Kennedy, Franklin Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush could possibly be the End Times Bad Boy, there's a new viral video placing the current occupant of the White House into the club. An American Christian has produced a brief film for YouTube that connects one statement by Jesus in the Gospel of Luke to President Barack Obama. His 4-minute video focuses on the direct quote: "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." (Luke 10:18) Youtube Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK_zh-X21f0 "When I started doing a little research, I found the Greek word for 'lightning' is 'astrape', and the Hebrew equivalent is 'Baraq,'" said YouTube contributor "ppsimmons," a self-described Christian with a theological education and many years in the ministry, who spoke to WND under condition of anonymity. "I thought that was fascinating." As he continued looking into the rest of the words in the phrase, he focused on "heaven," and found that it can refer not just to God's dwelling place, but also "the heights" or "high places." He then recalled Isaiah 14:14, where Lucifer, another name for Satan, is quoted as saying, "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." "I wondered what the word 'heights' is," said ppsimmons, "and I looked it up in the dictionary, and it's 'Bamah.'" Thus, on the video, the announcer notes, "If spoken by a Jewish rabbi today, influenced by the poetry of Isaiah, He (Jesus) would say these words in Hebrew ... 'I saw Satan as Baraq Ubamah.'" "Gosh, was Jesus giving us a clue or was this just a freak coincidence?" thought the filmmaker at the time of his research. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=105527 As I said very strange!! What do your think? Too close for comfort or unbelievable?

The part about Baraq meaning "lightning" is correct but this is not the root for the name Barack. There was a fellow in the bible named Barak, meaning lightning, and he fought with Deborah - see Judges. The name Barack comes from the Hebrew word "baruch" which means "blessing" or to bless. For instance "baruch haba b'shem Adonai" or blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. They sound alike to us, but not the same root word. Not that I don't think Obama is the AC's bff, but I can't say for sure that he's the big guy. Of course, if he were really born in Kenya, his chances for being the AC go up, but I think that he's just another of those who make the way for that one's arrival. He's busily re-structuring society and will probably cause or help start the big war in the Middle East. I don't know if God would set in "sound-alikes" as code in the Bible. This method has been abused by many, as in those who say that the name Jesus is just a permutation of the name of the pagan god Zeus when in fact it is simply an anglicized form of the Greek word for Joshua. These people will tell you that you must say Yeshua or you are calling on a pagan god. There's one other little problem where he states that Jesus would say those words in Hebrew. The common language of society in Jesus' time was Aramaic. It is unlikely that He was speaking anything but Aramaic except perhaps when quoting the Torah in the synagogue. I have no idea what barack means in Aramaic or even if the word exists. I don't buy into it, it's a little too obvious and relies on sound rather than true meaning. Interesting though.

Just to leave a postscript: According to Strong's Concordance, the Hebrew and Aramaic "Barak or Barack" come from the word meaning to bless or to kneel.

Actually at the beginning of the video it is made very clear that Jesus spoke Aramaic and he goes through the various translations and pronunciations leading to his conclusion. I found the video to be more explanatory than the article. I am not saying I believe it either but I found it very interesting to see the steps he took.

Of course, if you told Obama he was lightning fallen from heaven, he would assume it was a compliment.

I was always led to believe that the super Anti-Christ, the big daddy would be a white men (the Evil White Man) but perhaps that is what is wrong, that we seem to have assumptions on the anti=Christ looking like the tall blond Neo Nazi, or even the Hitler or Nazi type and we forget that he could have been Chinese, or African from South of the Sahara, Arabian, or American Indian. Not to mention that years ago, there were so many candidates. Why I remember reading that Hitler was the anti-Christ, even the Pope was the anti-Christ, and I am sure that thousands of years ago, Genghis Khan was the anti-Christ, but in those days there was one thing in common. People believed and it was common knowledge that Jesus Christ was the son of God and was sitting in the right hand of the Father, and it was not a crime in America for a public official to say so, most preachers knew Hebrew and Greek, but now things are different. If there had been a man with the name Barak Obama or a man who had in his cabinet, ungodly people, a red flag would have gone up. However that warning is now gone and we do not know if he is the cumulation or there will be another one that is worse. Or whether the anto-Christ consists of several people like Hitler, Stalin, the Pope, etc. and Obama is one of them. I will not say if he is one, but he would be a very good candidate, not by his name, but by his actions and if he is, it means that the end is near and those who are of the children of God will soon see Christ returning on the Clouds of Heaven in Glory.

No public official can say it in any official capacity. Many lawsuits have been filed to remove things like the ten commandments from public buildings. Children don't get Christmas Vacation from school, they have Winter Holidays. Children can't sing Silent Night in school concerts, only Jingle Bells. It's separation of church and state and while it is not probably a criminal act, if anyone breaches what the ACLU defines as separation of church and state, they will pummel that particular municipality with expensive lawsuits they can't hope to afford so as to change that policy.

Why do Americans think all the antichrists are Europeans? Why not Mao Zedong? Augusto Pinochet? countless others evil men from other countries. It's all about perspective and where you reside. Besides that, look at the crusades and what Christians did. Why aren't they consider antichrists? Seriously Christian atrocities go completely unnoticed. No one even mentions the Northern Crusades. Some people don't even know crusades against Lithuania and other baltic countries happened. Spare me your antichrist because Christian were beyond Evil themselves.

I wasn't aware that it is a crime for public officials to say that Jesus is God and is ruling in Heaven. Could you please send me the names of some of these public officials who are in jail because I would like to petition for their release. Sincerely now- your Fundamentalist Paranoia is showing.

I just tried it with a couple of online translation programs and did not get the same results. The Hebrew equivalent of "Baraq" looks nothing like the Hebrew equivalent of "astrape". "lightening" translated to Greek comes up with a word that, when translated back to English is "relief".

Wow, its really worth pondering upon....... firstly what this video says might just be true.......as we have been hearing things in past few months about Obama visiting Muslim nations calling "America" a Muslim nation......... I started disliking him when he used these words, how can he call a christian nation "Islamic" as it is it is only the west now which has majority as Christians and if in years to come these countries get converted to Islam I can imagine what can happen........ I am so very glad you gave us this link........I think yes he certainly gave us a sign maybe....... have a nice day !!!!

That is when I started to dislike him too. Then refusing to show his college credentials and birth certificate made me really distrust him!

wow! how people can twist things up and make them to be what they want.. Something I think is that, people will not mistake anybody to be the antichrist when it finally comes. For the antichrist is pure evil and I think no question will be left if he or she is the antichrist or not. I am not for or against Barack, I have no opinion of him whatsoever, I don't know him and I know that he somehow affects me no matter how trivial since he's one of the most powerful individual in the world, but its moves like this that makes it even harder for world leaders to do their jobs. He might have made wrong choices that might topple his country, but that is his prerogative and ultimately it will be him, his advisers and the politics in the US that will have clean up whatever mess he's gotten the country into. Each president no matter what country faces their own problems, their own ways to try to solve it and they will make mistakes and get slack for it, although it will generally be the people who will pay for it, it also becomes ultimately the fault of the people for voting and endorsing him in the first place. But this video or article will not and cannot help the cause of a depressed country. It can only worsen it especially if people take it seriously or give it a moments passing thought since judgment can be clouded thru this. I just hope that people will stop this kind of 'research' and focus more on helping lift the 'depression' and help in making the world into a more economically stable position that will help not only the US but every other country as well

very interesting i guess but i try not to buy into these types of theories as i feel it really serves no purpose. i just feel that speculation is a waste of time and i prefer to deal in facts. it makes for interesting conversation though.

yes the bible does not give the name of the anti Christ yet it did not give a clue whether he will be a black or white man ,people will continue to speculate and say what they feel its right in their eyes and one thing is sure, Jesus will soon put an end to all world governments
