He is one of those Toy Dogs, and everytime I look around he is barking up a storm, I told me neighbor about him Barking, I told her I never seen a dog bark like that all the time, My grandson says Grandma, report the Dog barking all the time, I am trying to be nice. But I don't know why, because my Neighbor isn't really that nice. Isn't there a way she can train that dog to stop barking all the time? That dog really gets on my nerve barking all the time, Oh, Boy there he goes again, I feel like knocking on her door sometimes to to tell her, can't she keep the dog quiet.

I am the caretaker of my mom's little dog, and he barks all the time. He barks at thunder, he barks at airplanes, he barks at nothing - drives me nuts! I yell at him all the time, I haven't found anything that works. If the dog is outside barking during hours when it would violate a local noise ordinance, you can tell her to keep the dog in during those hours and if she doesn't comply she can get a ticket. If the dog is indoors, there probably isn't much you can do besides close your window an play some music or something. Of course you could get your own dog and let it out to bark at her dog! Sorry I don't have any better ideas.

Little dogs can be trained, but it takes a lot of work. I kept my chihuahua's kennel out in plain sight. Every time she barked for no reason, she got a time-out of 10 minutes. Toy breeds of dogs tend to be high-strung and nervous. They are after all, tiny creatures in a huge world. Perhaps you can reward times when they used to bark, but didn't. I use Rice Chex cereal as a treat because they're pretty non-fattening. If you stick with it, eventually they will not bark all the time. My dog actually learned to use her kennel as a refuge, and went there on her own.

you are so right Catdla. my coco used to bark at everything. now if i say "hush! Im going to put you in the room" she stops. because at times i've put her in our bedroom to chill for a timeout so, sometimes she will just growl under her breath a little to let me know she still dont like something we also have a neighbor that lets her little dog bark way to much which makes it hard when coco hears it.

i have a toy dog, and yes they bark alot. you have to train them. my damn dog barks like that too. it can be a big pain in the butt. well my dog only barks if someone comes to our door, or walks by our door. it can be a bit much, but she doesn't bark all day and night for nothing

There was a time when the neighbor's dog was barking the whole night and even if the owner came out to keep the dog quiet, the dog kept on barking. It was very irritating after sometime but then I just felt asleep as I was saying in my mind that the dog's barking was some music to my ears. Then there was a time when the dog in the next neighbor kept on barking and I had to throw a stone near him, there was a can nearby and the stone landed on the can which startled the dog and it did not bark anymore. Anyways, the dogs at the other houses started barking until it rained and all was quiet except for the sound of the rain LOL

One day that dog barked for 3 hours, I couldn't understand what was wrong, the neigbors wasn't hme, I was so concerned since she was barking like that, I looked outside to see was someone there, I kept telling the dog to shut up. and wouldn't stop barking I mean 3 hours. I ask my Neigbor, is something wrong with your dog? She said that they had company over and that is why the dog kept barking.

Certainly she can train the dog to bark less. I have two chihuahuas that used to bark if a fly flew past the window. With plenty of time-outs, they've learned to back less. It's probably impossible to get them to not bark at all, after all they are tiny in big world. Barking is their defense. My dogs only bark if some one is at the door, or if a family member has come home. Oh, and the sound of emergency vehicles get them going. One will bark, and the other will 'sing'...kind of like baying at the moon...lol. Surprisingly they don't bark during thunderstorms. You should talk to the building manager. There should be a noice ordinance, even during the day. You have a right to peace and quiet. If the manager won't do anything, you should get a CD of polka music and play it loudly (in your neighbor's direction) whenever the dog barks. If she asks you about it, your answer is that you use it to drown out the sound of her dog.

hi maricascott! in my case i will first talk to the owner of that dog and if there is no action done in their part, i will now report them to the concerned office for an immediate intervention. the dog might be sick or is not being taken cared of so, whatever help i can offer or the concerned agency will be of great help to restore peace in the neighborhood.

I have a friend that had a dog (passed away) that used to bark constantly, but it was his way of showing he was excited. I understand where you're coming from because I would get tired of the noise too. After you've tried to reason with your neighbor by talking and talking to him/her, I would call and report the dog as many times as it takes to show your neighbor you mean business. And don't feel bad after you do it because you tried alternate options BEFORE resulting in the extreme. Good luck!

Thats very annoying. I have a dog and I don't let her just bark and bark for no reason. Its rude to just let your dog bark and bark like that. If you have talked to the lady and she doesn't do anything, you might have to report her. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. If the dog barks at you maybe you can make friends with the dog.

Your discussion takes me thirty and odd years down memeory lane.I used to visit my parents' place then and my sister also used to come with her children for our summer vacation. Both of us would sleep upstairs in my father's house along with our children because it was more airy and open there. We used to chat till 12 or 1 oclock at midnight but there would be a very loud barking-- a constant bark of our neighbour's dog. I t was irritating beyond words. We would doze off at midnight but this blesssed dog would bark as though he had all the thieves in the town at his doorstep that we would wake up. We used to giggle and resume our chat at times. But we could sleep only after the dog got tired. When we are at the point of sleeping[ in the verge of] it is diffcult to start with this constant irritation .

thats a big problem as people loving silence should be having much problems. The loud barking aloud causes disturbance to neighbours and especially student who are concentrating on their studies. The only way , i can think is to clarify the owner of the dog that thw whole area is getting irritated and having problems with the dog. so to control the matter the owner should take steps to maintain peace in the neighbour hood.

That would rive me crazy even if it was my own dog. I get on my little dog for barking alot and I make him go lay down at times and keep quiet. She can get a bark collar for that dog and it will train the dog not to bark like that. I would suggest it to her.

I have two dogs, a beagal mix and a lab. The lab is just one year old and tends to yap, not bark, when she wants something, just to get attention. We have recently moved to a suburb from the countryside and I am very sensitive about my dogs making to much noise, especially at night. But the neighbours have cats that come into our and make the dogs bark, plus the house behind ours the family constantly fights. We can hear them screaming and yelling until late at night, this also upsets the dogs!!! But the worst problem is the house down the road, they have a dog which barks everynight from about midnight until 4 or 5am. I think it is tied up all day and never walked at all. Poor thing but the barking is driving me crazy!!!

It is really hard to stop a dog that barks all the time. My ex had a dog that barked all the time. He got it while I was in the midst of looking for a place and moving on. He insisted on putting the dog outside all nite. All nite long the dog would bark. All day long he would bark. I think he was lonely. When my ex would let him in, the barking would stop but he was very hyper and so happy to be around people. We had a neighbor that reported it a couple of times. One time he called at 3am...woke me up and I woke my ex up to deal with him. He was so so angry. Anyway, I called the vets for suggestions. One thing that helped quite a bit was to set him up a spot in the garage and put a radio in there. The radio kept him company and did help at night at least. Dogs need companionship and human interaction. It is just not good to have a dog tied up outside for hours and hours. If a person does not have time for a dog then they shouldn't have one.

In our previous house, our neighbour had a dog who used to bark most of the time, day and night. Here we don't have any law for such dogs, so could do nothing but tolerate. Thankfully, we moved from there two months back, no more such nuisance here.

Sometimes life let us no choice, it is hard to solve this problem. If other things may be you can call police, only dog bucks, it's hard to do. You try to discuss with your neighbour Let her always keep the dog inside the door, maybe it sounds not so noise.

You may ask the owner nicely to keep their dog quiet. Maybe the dog isn't feeling well that's why it barks all the time. Humans talk, dogs bark. Something is wrong with the dog that's why it keeps barking all the time.

hi marciascott well when the greyhounds all chained up at night bark non stop at Mr.Possum who comes through on his way to upset all our complex's garbage cans, I finally take action. Now when' this happen a year ago our complex was over the city line so oh' boy I couldn't call the tustin police so called the sheriff and told him the dogs barked until they were hoarse, waited a while then 'started over all night long. He sent a deputy and he told these people to either keep the damned dogs quiet or take them inside at'night as p eople wanted to sleep.the racket stopped so I dont know it they took them inside or what but my complaint worked.

I may not be a dog expert but I did have dogs since I was very young. Dogs bark and make a fuss at something. They don't bark for no reason. Maybe lightning, passer-bys, intruders, rats, mouse, etc. Or even being mistreated. Maybe you should politely tell them that their dog is needing attention and offer your help instead. This way you will be able to really know as to why their dog is making such a fuss. It may keep both sides happy and hopefully a happier and quieter dog. It's only my opinion.

This will make you crazy if you let it. The dog is barking for attention. The owner is not evidentally interested in the dogs mental health and so ignores its demands for attention. This is a very inconsiderate neighbor. I once was in the same position. I found that when I made friends with the dog the dog would listen to me. So when the dog had a reason to bark it was ok. But when it barked just to demand attention, I would tell it to be a good dog and be quiet. Everytime I saw the dog I would feed it a bisquit or a piece of hotdog. So the dog began to obey me. I would talk to it when I was in the yard at the same time. I would go out and give it a treat. When I came home from work I would give it a treat. Soon it began to respond to me as if I was its master. I would always say what a good dog when it became quiet at my request. It will take work . I am sorry for your problem.

We have new dog and he is not like our old dog. He barks all the time that's why I trained him to stop barking. I locked him in his house every time that he don't stop barking. I think after doing that he learn not to bark in our neighbors walking in the street. Now he is a good dog, I also teach him how to open our gate so he can come out every time he want. I think its much better to talk to your neighbor in a nice way to please stop her dog on barking all the time.
