Obama golfs instead of acknowledging The Polish Memorial on Sunday

O is classy, isn't he? He sends Biden and Clinton to write in the Condolences Book for the Polish President's memorial at the Polish Embassy, istead of going himself. No, this isn't about whether he should have actually gone or not, because the Iceland volcano made travel unsafe for some people. Rather, it's about class, and dignity, neither of which he has. The Polish people have noticed this snub. I thought this man was going to have the world falling at our feet in adoration? It seems to me all he is doing is giving the finger. This guy either needs an education in state protocol, or he just plain doesn't care.

He was planning on making the trip the whole time. He was told that it wasn't safe for him to go, and he listen to the people that know. I am sure there are many on this site that wanted him to go just on the chance that something would happen to him. But, I am sure you aren't one of them. Right??????

That's a broad accusation and totally out of line with what the poster said. I suppose it's safer for Biden to fly than him, although I don't know what we'd do without ol' Joe, he gives us all a laugh now and again. As the poster said, it's about behaving like the leader of the free world. He wasn't worried about safety when he ditched the WH press corps (pronounced corpse according to Obama) and went to a soccer game that wasn't even being played while disappearing from the White House without anyone having a clue where he'd gone.

Debater, any sane person would want the president to stay right here. I shudder to think what would happen if he had attempted to go and then his plane went down. Even though I think he's a bad president, I pray each day for his safety and that of his beautiful family. The point is not that he didn't go--he shouldn't even have thought of it at that point--it's that he didn't have enough respect to go sign the book himself and instead played a game. Doesn't matter if it was golf or basketball or even if he had something important to do, he should have gone and signed that book himself. Not doing so and playing golf showed the people of Poland that he doesn't care about their loss.

Rollo, I didn't accused anyone of anything in my response. I just asked a question that we all know our own answer to. Are you feeling a little guilty over there? The president doesn't need to tell us where he is all of the time, and where does it say in the constitution that president has to tell the press corp. what he is doing all of the time? Just because YOU don't know where he is, doesn't mean that the people that need to know where he is (the secret service) don't.

He's had lots of breaks. He's playing his 32nd round of golf in a little over a year into his presidency whereas Bush played only 24 rounds of golf over a span of 8 years. He has taken several vacations. What is he doing his best at?

Yeah, this guy has had the most 'breaks' of any presidents I've ever seen, lol. He's best at being leisurely, Rollo, lol!!

I guess it is all in the way you look at it. The way I see it, the more time he spends on the golf course, the less time he has to spend "fundamentally" changing America!

His protocol faux pas so far would fill a book. I'd blame his staff but I don't think he would listen even if they told him what was proper. He's young and hip and cool and does what he thinks is right. The fact that the world is appalled by his lack of understanding of how to conduct himself in meetings with other world leaders he simply ignores or must put down to them not being as cool and hip as he is. Those old fogeys...

Obama doesn't have much power, he's just a puppet for the public. If you think Obama is in charge, answer me this. Why is it that the exact opposite of what he ran on has happened since he was elected?

It would have taken how long to go to the Polish Embassy and write in the Condolences Book? But this is the same guy that bows to the leaders of other nations, why should we expect he's got the protocol (common courtesy in this instance) down.

In my opinion, Obama should have taken a little time out of his day to go by the Polish Embassy to pay his respects and to sign the book. He would have still had time to play golf so, in this case, I do agree that his actions were disrespectful.

although politically it would have been better for our Nation if he had gone lets face it in the scheme of things there are bigger issues to worry about and if the man is going on vacation who is dealing with them. I would be also a bit more worried about who he sent over there. If any one is going to insult some one it will be Biden and Clinton, I am sorry but he was never a good representation of the good in America.
