My daft cat went to sleep in the paper recylcing box we have in the dining room. I threw some cardboard in the box without looking and my cat cried out!!! I didn't realise that he had gone to sleep in the box!!! I reckon I gave him a headache. I don't know why he got in the paper recylcing box for a sleep as also in the dining room he has a very nice comfy bed to sleep in. Question 1 Have you ever given your cat a headache? Question 2 What strange places have you found your cat asleep in? Happy Monday to you all

hi anne had a response and something wiped it out so starting over I had a cat we called Midnight as she w as pure black. She loved to sit on top my washing machine w hen I was washing clothes. One day I looked all over, no Midnight so as I w ent past the washing machine to check in back I turned on the washing machine having earlier put in the detergent. all at once I heard the most godawful noise from inside, cat screetching, I opened the lid and the cat was just barely wet but covered in detergent and really angry. I got her out and wiped her off, then cuddled her and she finally quit complaining. i was so glad the machine had only just started. I kept checking her all day to be sure she had not got burned or swallowed detergent. She was okay bu t from then on I kept something heavy on top so she could not lie there.the mystery is how she got in there. I admit I had the top up for a short period but I kept thinking if she climbed in there thenhow come I never saw her when I put the lid down. I was grateful she did not a ppear to be harmed.she sure got an unusual bath that time.

Thank you for sharing your story. I love the name of your cat Midnight. I bet you have many other lovely stories of Midnight that you could share with us all on mylot. Our cat has been in the tumble dryer before and left cat hair on all the clean dry clothes

I have heard of cats getting lost when they sit on the warm engines of cars and people don't know that they are there and take them for a free ride

That sounds like my house! I have found the cats sleeping in garbage cans, dish pans, the kitchen sink (that was a "rude" awakening when I soaked the cat), the clothes dryer (the cat kept getting clunked by a tennis shoe before I heard the YEOW from the dryer)and an empty paper bag laying on the floor. Cats can have the most fabulous expensive bed in the world and they will chose to sleep in such strange places! It leaves us humans scratching our heads wondering why we spent so darn much money on a fancy bed that never gets used.

I dont know if i ever gave one of my 3 cats headaches but i know they try to give them to me. Yes they sleep in crazy places all the time. Ibrought home a couple of small wooden crates for the purpose of filing papers. They are now 2 cats beds. One has papers for lining the trash can. The cats like the bedding there too. The other create i put a small towel for them. They also have 2 kennels for them to sleep in. Sometimes they get up under the bed covers. or you can see the hump from when they were under there.

I've never given my cat a headache, but our older cat, Peaches certainly has given herself a headache. You see, we were dog-sitting for a friend of ours and Peaches is kind of afraid of dogs and the dog that we were watching was a lot bigger than Peaches, so she was trying to flee from him. She missed her jump to the top of the computer tower and ended up conking her eye on the side of the computer. It couldn't have felt good. As far as odd places that I've found the cats asleep in, my favorite has to be when Callie was a kitten and she would squeeze herself between the cushions on the couch.

I don't have a cat so I have never found one sleeping in a strange place before. Also, it would be hard to give them a headache when they don't exist in my house! I think cats though, as many animals, like to find a comfortable spot to lay in. Maybe the box was closed in more so she felt comfortable, or perhaps the kitchen was warmer since you were cooking in there. Sorry you gave your cat a headache.

cats do like to sleep in the most weird places.mine are sleeping in drawers,on the tv(i guess because it gets warm when is on),i even found one in the washing machine on top of the clothes once. when you have cats you always have to be careful and check if the cat is not in the oven for example before you turn it on. i never gaved my cats a head ache but they get it by themselves.one of my cats was playing yersterday and she bumped with the head in the wall.i actually checked her to see if she can walk normaly because she hit the wall with a very high speed.

My Goldie has a headache once, and then later on when she was better she took it out on me. She's good at getting her revenge on people and other animals.

I may have given Harmony a headache yesterday when I left the stove on all day under the kettle while I was out (see: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2649703.aspx) I don't know, but she just reminded me that I did it again! She kept harping at me until I turned it off. Luckily, there was still enough water in the kettle for most of a cup of tea.

One day when I was doing something in the bedroom, I heard a faint meow and a scratching noise. When I opened the closet door, my cat came out. He must have gotten in there when I was hanging clothes. Not an unusual place for a cat, but th is one had been very goo0d about not going in there.

Cats are notorious for sleeping in the oddest places. I think the wierdest place my cat has slept was in the bathroom sink. I am not sure that you actually gave him a headache, but I bet you sure startled him!

i dont have a cat , but i have a dog (jack russell) spoiled rotten, she had 2 beds one in the living room and one in the bed room, at night she sleeps in our bed with me and hubby, sometimes she gets in her bed before morning and sometimes she sleeps in front of my hubby's legs. during the day i go look for her and she will be under the coffee table sleeping.. so i put her bed under a chair so she likes that..

I do not own a cat, but I love animals and, good or bad sometimes I can understand their behavior. I am not quite clear what you mean by giving your cat a headache. Maybe your cat has had a headache as he slept in an unusual place, I believe? Anyway to tell you the truth, when the animals are not in good health, in a sense, you do understand quite clearly. I see it, I have a dog, animals are often very routine. When these habits change in a negative way, does it mean that there is something wrong. That said, good Monday to you too!

We have cats back at home and I love giving them a headache. They're reactions are so cute I can't help but tease them all the time! Most of the time, our cats sleep under the behind our CPU. We don't know why though but I think it's because of the heat that it produces. They like places that are rather warm.

A "CPU" is the large box that contains all the parts for your computer. If you have a desk top it is the large rectangular box that has the mother board, hard drive, disk drive, power components, and fan for running all the computer parts. It is referred to as "CPU" I have heard it referred to as central processing unit, computer processing unit and several other names. But basically with a desk top computer it is what holds all the parts so that the computer works.

LOL Cats can be funny that way. The other day I came into the apartment with my arms absolutely loaded with groceries. I could hardly get the door open. I was also talking on my phone, because the stupid thing rang, as I was trying to come in. In the dark, not having a hand left to turn the light on, I heard a MEOWL (cross between a meow and a howl) and realized I had stepped on the cat's tail. LOL That's what he gets for getting in my way when I'm trying to get in the door.

Cats love boxes. They love to explore them and have great times in them. I have given my cat a shock before. He was walking on carpet and jumped on me. We both got shocked. He was mad at me and thought it was my fault.

Cats are such unpredictable creatures they sure have a mind of their own you can give them a nice comfy bed but they may decide to fall asleep in the most precarious places...like at the edge of the sofa or bed...oh and my Tom like to sleep in the drawer where I have my under wear!! so I have to wash them all because they are full of hair!

My cat likes under the bed, and in the closet sometimes and the basement in old vent that used heat the house. It always funny when I go in the basement to do wash I see peak her head out sleepy looking at me like are you going to chase me out. I never do. Then when basement door is locked and she down there she will sit there and meow her little meows to let her out and when I do I get big meow when she runs into the other room as if to say Thank you to me. You sound like you have adorable cat. it sound like you caught her by surprise! That happens! Thanks Unique16

I think I haven't given my cats a headache, yeah, all of the posts here are right, cats do sleep in strangest places. I have four cats, and another 4 kittens. I really love all my cats, My cats usually sleep on top of our refrigerator, but at night they sleep on my bed and sometimes on top of me...hahaha...and one more thing, they are like my alarm clocks, they are waking me up every day to ask for food at 5.30 in the morning...hahahaha...
