Drive thru’s are great if your in a hurry. Most banks have them along with just about every fast food place, some stores and most pharmacies. You just pull up, tell the worker what you want and they hand it out to you. Sometimes though you have to wait in a long and some fast food places the line can be very long. For most ppl it’s irritating to have to wait but they still do it rather than get out and go in. I’ve seen a few times where ppl have waited so long that their car has overheated and they’ve had to wave ppl around them. I’ve seen a few times where ppl have had to be towed off or have the hood up trying to find out what’s wrong. My Mom has had a few cars that I swear it was an act of God that it didn’t break down in the drive thru. Some drive thru’s you can’t go around, like at a bank, and ppl behind you have to back up and go to another lane. I’d be mortified. Have you ever broken down in a drive thru? Have you ever seen someone break down? What would you do if it happened to you? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

No, we never broke down before. I'm not sure why you would go through the drive thru if you thought your car was going to break down. I agree, it would be terrible. Plus sometimes people can't go around. Have a nice day. Pablo

I havne't stalled in a drive thru before but I have seen it happen to others on a few occasions usually if they are nice people about they will help push it out of the way so they can go about their business themselves. I don't really like drive thrus because I feel I get a better faster service going inside.

no and no but my breaking down is a fear; I would be mortified. I would feel so helpless and embarrassed that I would probably never use a drive thru again.

When I was in high school I worked at McDonald's. There was an employee that I also went to school with named Brandon. He was in the drive thru one night waiting on his food and we were really busy and he was waiting a long time. His car ran out of gas while he was sitting at the window. I just got out and pushed it out of the way.

Our car is very old, so old it is best friends with Freddy the extinct dinosaur. Ok, not that old. For us, it wouldn't take going through the drive through, nor does it like long distance driving. Realistically, it is a junk pile on wheels, but seeing as it fits us all and we only have to pay for the rego (friends of ours own it) we can't really afford to be picky. It does the job we need it to do, and that is fine. It's not like we are going all over town all day every day.

I myself have never broke down in a drive thru but have seen someone else and they simply got out and pushed their car through so other people could use it.I don't know what I would do probably the same thing the other person did just get it out of the way.Have a great night.

I've never broken down in a drive thru before but I did have a car that was starting to overheat because I was in line too long. I just turned my car off while I waited. I have also found that if your car over heats you can turn on your heater and it will help cool the engine some.

Oh my! I have once or twice, but if I think my car is going to have a problem, I turn it off first.

Well drive throughs are not as common here twoey and we only really have them at fast food places! If the queue was that long I would simply go elsewhere or park the car and go inside - I wouldn't be waiting that long that this might happen! xxx

I have never had that happen either to me or to anyone in line ahead of me, but in truth, I generally do go inside. One reason is that I find the squawk boxes awkward, especially when some idiot pulls up behind us with a radio blaring so loud that the we cannot make ourselves heard over it. Am am not a shouter. Then, too, they often have better condiments inside, and more napkins.

Years ago, my husband convinced me to go to mcdonalds late at nite for him. I was in my pjs and they were not the cool kind that people go out in.....they were tattered and ripped and ugly but comfy. as my luck would have it my car did break down right at the pay window. it was the most humiliating experience! They were very busy and I had to get out and walk to a payphone to call for help....got to the payphone and didn't have change and had to walk inside mcdonalds for change. It was a nitemare, I will never forget. to this day...I very rarely do drive thrus.

I cannot remember breaking down in the drive thru, but I did break down on the freeway exit one time! I had to walk up the hill to get gas and get my car out of there fast!

No, I have never broken down in a drive through. I use them, but I also go in to get meals on the go. If I don't feel like walking in I use the drive-thru. I would be like you mortified if I broke down in a drive thru. I am embarrassed braking down anywhere else.

I have never broken down in a drive thru thank God. I would be so embarrassed, especially if there were a long line of people behind me waiting for their food that they have ordered. I would be so disgusted if I had to back up and move to another lane also if I had already been sitting there for a very long time waiting. I have seen someone break down before but people helped to push their vehicle off to the side so others could use the drive thru.

I have not ever broken down in a drive through (knock on wood! ) and hopefully will not have to deal with that. I have seen others and always try to ask if they need help, though. I guess I would have to either see if it was something I could fix myself - as I do have some mechanical knowledge - and if not then call someone for help. My cell phone would really come in handy in that situation!

I have never had a breakdown in the drive thru. My daughter changed her mind in the drive thru and backed out. Not very funny since she was in my car!. I heard it said yesterday that with gas prices the way they are now, you would actually save money by going in rather than waiting in the drive thru. It would be quicker too.

I've never broken down in a drive thru so far (touch wood). They're actually quite fast here in the UK, and I've never had to wait more than a minute or so apart from a few times in McDonalds when they actually tell you to park up and they bring the food out to you because they know they're going to be more than a few minutes. I've never been to a drive thru bank, that seems the height of laziness but I guess in places which are far from residential areas it might be quite a common thing :)
