Do you have a digital camera? |
|
I want one, but I don't know whether it is worth buying or not. I have a regular camera, but I rarely use it. Film is so expensive, so I don't buy it very often. Buying a digital camera should be cheaper in the long run, because I wouldn't have to buy film. What do you think? If you have one, what brand of camera do you have? Are they very expensive?

2. desertdarlene (5842) | 1 year ago | I didn't get a digital camera for a long time simply because I just couldn't afford them right up front. But, now that I have a few (one "professional" one and some smaller, snapshot ones), I think they're worth the price. I take 10 times more photos than I used to, so I'm getting a lot of practice. And, I only print out a few as most of them are for the web anyway. The only bad thing about having a digital camera is that it seems to encourage laziness as it doesn't matter if I make a mistake, I can just erase the photo without cost. Whereas film, if you make a mistake, then you waste film. So, film cameras have taught me to be careful about my settings and composition.

Bd200789 (1969) | 1 year ago | Thanks for responding. I have taken a ton of pictures of my thumb and ones that turned out with the person's head cut off. At least with a digital one, I won't waste the money on film.

4. thelastwolf113 (3054) | 1 year ago | No, to get the quality of a 35 mm in digital is way too expensive. I'd need a professional camera and I cannot afford it. I got my 2 Minolta Maxxim 400si cameras from a person who sells them on E-bay but he lives locally and my husband does plumbing work for him, so we went to his house and picked them out. They were very reasonable, under $100 each. We bought one first and it worked so beautifully we bought another one for my husband. I also got a telephoto lens with mine. I'd have paid a lot more in a store. There is nothing like the quality I get from them. People have actually asked me if some of my photos were professionally done. It worth paying for the film. And you can have it put on a disc instead of prints, it's very cheap to do it that way.

5. ebsharer (2474) | 1 year ago | For me its worth buying it. I use my camera every day. Yes every day. I don't print all the pictures I take and I think thats what is so great about a digital camera - you don't have to. I keep all my pictures on my computer and can look at them if I want to. I only print the few that go into the scrap book and the few that go on the walls. Every once in a while I will take my CD to Walgreens and print out pictures to send to friends and family.
It is a money saver in the end for a few reasons one because like I said you don't have to print every picture you take. Second you aren't buying film all the time. Third you aren't using the gas to drop and pick up pictures all the time.
I have a Kodka camera it was $149.99 on sale. I personally love it. It takes good pictures and doesn't have much of a delay like some do. My camera is an 8.2 mpx which is really good. Here is the link the the camera I have... http://www.kodak.com/ekne... you are looking for a decent camera for a good price here is the links of a few I found. I would reccomend any of them. They will take pretty good pictures and the software to put on the computer is easy to follow.

Or there is the link for my camera which is right at 150.

6. fortknox75 (497) | 1 year ago | Hi Bd200789, as you have said, digital camera is cheaper in the long run because you don't have pay for films, since films are also expensive. So I suggest you buy a digital camera when you got a budget so you will also not be outdated by technology. You'll get a lot of advantages using a digital camera. You could take as many shots as you want until you drop and exhausted and just select the shots that you like. You could also view right away from your camera screen if you like the your shot or not, then take another shot. You cannot do that with your conventional camera using films. You will only see your shots as soon as they are developed and you cannot do anything on the shots that you don't like. Unlike with digital camera, you could also choose which shots you want to print.
There are a lot of digital camera brands that are very good. One of them is Sony (buy the Sony Cybershot). Sony is the best in my opinion. But you could opt to choose other brands like Casio, Samsung, and HP. They are very good brands.
Hope it helped you. have a good day!

7. tammyr (3436) | 1 year ago | I got a digital camera for Christmas a few years ago.I ran the first set of batteries out just checking it out! LOL The cost of batteries was astounding!! I got recharchable and still they wouldn't last long. My second camera is a Polaroid i-zone 300. i can recharge it on my PC or any electric socket. THAT saved a lot of money in the long run. I got it while on sale for $69 so it was not too expensive to begin with. I LOVE taking photos and love the bonus that I can NOT rpint the messed up photos and can just pick the ones I want to print. i take a lot of photos of movement and a lot of them just don't come out. i can take several and pick the ones that look good.

| 8. corareedphoto (17) | 1 year ago | I would definitely suggest going digital. If you can't get an slr right away I would suggest a compact 10mp camera with good settings. I have been using my Olympus e-500 for some time and love it. Being able to take 200 or so raw digital images in a setting is total freedom for me.

warmweatherwoman (1031) | 1 year ago | I agree with somiran- I own a Sony digital, and they are great. I paid a little over two hundred for mine- but I opted for that because I wanted a 15x zoom feature and great ISO settings. It's also a 10 megapixel camera.
