hydrogen peroxide

My sister-in-law was telling me that she went to the store to buy some hydrogen peroxide and was questioned by the shop lady as to whether she was planning on drinking it! According to the lady, people have started drinking peroxide to clean their insides out from gunk. I was pretty sure that hydrogen peroxide was not supposed to be ingested. Have you heard of this or done this? What is the reasoning behind this practice?

The human body expels 70 percent of its toxins from breathing. When you breathe, fat molecules combine with oxygen atoms, producing carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is the most abundant product of metabolism. The other 30 percent of toxins are discharged through defecation and sweat. A small amount of water soluble toxins are discharged through urination. If your breathing is not operating at peak efficiency, you are not ridding yourself of toxins properly. Research shows that shallow breathers get cancer more often. Drinking Hydrogen Peroxide usually helps rid the body of excess toxins, bacteria, viruses and cancers. The acidic properties of fat lower the body's cellular pH and oxygen levels, producing an ideal breeding ground for cancer. Cancer needs an acidic low oxygen environment to survive and thrive. Your kidneys must work overtime if less than 70 percent of your toxins are not being released through breathing, causing a number of illnesses. Drinking hydrogen peroxide may cause an upset stomach. Hydrogen peroxide should be taken on an empty stomach, one hour before meals or three hours after meals. Food in the stomach may cause excess foaming, indigestion or vomiting. Those with chronic systemic Candidiasis may need to start with 1 drop in 8oz. of water 3 times a day, then 2 drops in 8oz. of water three times a day before starting a schedule. Do not mix chlorinated tap water with 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide! People with serious problems will benefit from staying on 25 drops three times a day for one to three weeks, then tapering down to 25 drops two times daily until the problem is resolved (1 to 6 months). Some patients take three or four lecithin capsules at the same time they take the hydrogen peroxide to stop the nausea.

I found this article when I was looking around to answer my own question. It left me with another question though. What is food-grade hydrogen peroxide and how is it different than the brown bottle on my sink that I use for small cuts? http://www.dancingalgae.com/hydrogenperoxide.html

I wonder if the poison control number on the side of my hydrogen peroxide bottle even means anything now that I know people actually do take it.

Oh wow, that is odd. I have to say that I have never heard of anyone drinking peroxide. It sounds very dangerous. Although I have hear of people drinking bleach mixed in juice or something to induce vomitting. Also a very bad idea! If I was buying peroxide and someone asked me that I would flat out look at them like they were from mars and be like, umm.. no.

I didnt think it could be ingested either. I do know that it makes a really good mouthwash - i've used it for that although it leaves a horrid taste in your mouth. As I understood one is not to swallow it. Another thing its good for other than sterilizing/putting on wounds is...getting blood out of fabric. It keeps the blood from staining IF you get it on soon enough (like before the blood has set in)

i got curious after reading this post. anyway, i am a pharmacist and that's why i am surprised to know that there are people drinking in hydrogen peroxide these days. could be possible but should be in a very small percentage. but i will surely read more about this one. anyway, i've searched on the net about the possible effects hydrogen peroxide can cause to our body. here's the facts i've read... "Concentrated hydrogen peroxide (50%) is corrosive, and even domestic-strength solutions can cause irritation to the eyes, mucous membranes and skin.[23] Swallowing hydrogen peroxide solutions is particularly dangerous, as decomposition in the stomach releases large quantities of gas (10 times the volume of a 3% solution) leading to internal bleeding. Inhaling over 10% can cause severe pulmonary irritation" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_peroxide#Hazards anne

this is a new one on me too. I have heard of rinsing your mouth with it (done that myself). But I would never drink it. Correct me if I am wrong but there is a warning label cautioning not to ingest it. I think that is highly dangerous so does my mom and she is a retired nurse.

I have not heard about this. It is NOT supposed to be ingested. I know some people mix it with water and use it as a mouth rinse because I did it when I was a kid after I got stitches in my mouth, but I was told not to swallow it and to make sure I spit it all out. I haven't heard this but I have a feeling this is going to turn into a huge craze that's going to end up killing a few people.

That is so strange. I was told to use hydrogen peroxide to make a kitten throw up after she licked some paint that was a dangerous color. She threw up all right. I'm wondering if they are doing this to make themselves throw up?

I heard some where about people drinking hydrogen peroxide I think for losing weight and enhancing energy. They said after drinking it and having energy the thought of eatting food seemed to gross them out. I also heard of people putting it some in a small sprayer to spray about 1 or 2 sprays up their nostrils to enhance oxygen in their body. All this stuff is dangerous by the way as I should not have to say it. I was thinking if you drank hydrogen peroxide with how bubbly it is it seems like it would end up coming out of your mouth like some type of volcano eventually. Hydrogen peroxide binds to anything it mixes with so if you have a dirty mouth it can bind to stuff in your mouth like sugar and you can spit it out and clean your teeth. I've also found its good for a tub bath to pour a little bit in while i'm bathing and it really does making the water cleaner. You start to feel cleaner after pouring some in your bath water while in it. I'm serious it makes the water thats suppose to be clean anyway even cleaner while your in it and your body will feel it. Try it for the bath but please i'm not saying to drink this stuff because thats dangerous.

Well that is definitely news to me. I have read on the label many times that it is not safe to ingest, but is okay to gargle with. I don't see where this woman would allow a person to purchase it without saying that it was harmful and pointing it out on the label. Have a Great day.

There is a food grade that is meant for ingestion. I am not sure where to purchase it. Several years ago I heard about it and it really wasn't to my interest. Check it out on the net!

Like a lot of chemical out there, if taken in the right dosage they can be beneficial. Taken in the wrong dose they can be lethal. As the treatise said earlier in this post - 1 drop of hydrogen peroxide to 8oz. of water. That is a dilution of about 1:10,000! But it can be good for you. Warfrin is taken to thin the blood. It is also used to kill rats! I would have also thought that the shop assistant should have asked if you were planning to make a bomb! Hydrogen peroxide will make a fine bomb! I mean to say, if you were asked, would you say 'Yes. I'm just going to make a bomb'?

I haven't heard of anyone doing this, but it doesn't surprise me. People are willing to do anything other than exercise and eat right to be healthy. I did look it up and found this online: http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2006/NEW01420.html It just makes you wonder who thinks all these things up. Unbelievable!

Well I guess in a way there is a sort of logic to it. It is supposed to disinfect, so you'd think it would make a good anti-biotic. I wonder how that foamy fuzzy feels like in your tummy? Nope, I never heard of it before now, and I wouldn't want to try it.

This is a new one to me I never heard befor that anyone can drink hydrogen peroxide. I don't think trying this sort of thing would be good for you. The only way I would is if my doctor knew it was ok and suggested it for me to do which I would hardly doubt it. I will have to ask my doctor on this one question just to find out for myself.
