Can you read a map?  

I can read a map. Some days better than others. I would make my way out of the widerness in the long run. It may take awhile, but I would do it.

I don't really know.
I have never been real good with a compass. A map yes but not a compass.
I never could get it but my sister always knew east west north south no matter where she was. Me not so good.
Give me a sunset or sunrise or a place I know and I know my direction.
If I can remember to make sure I don't forget the big needle points north on the compass I will be fine.

Oh, yest, I am very good at reading maps. I don't generally need a compass, though, but it would definitely be helpful. A map and a watch would be better. I can use the sun and stars as a compass and it actually works out better for me doing it that way.

I could do it! I am good at reading maps, and moreso good at finding my way out of the woods - I grew up with 40 acres behind my house! All we did every day as kids was go and play in the woods!

My husband could definitely find his way out with a compass and map. He could probably do it with just the compass. He is trying to teach me to use both tools. I've learned some on our hikes, but don't know if I could make my way out or not. I do need to learn the skill though.

It is most unlikely that you would nap me, as I am rather vigilant about who is around me and what they are up to, and I don't cozy up with nappers. Also I would prob ably not be afraid in the forest, as I grew up in one and used to love to go out walking in the middle of the night. Not sure if I would need the compass, either. If it were night I might not be able to read the map or the compass anyway, so I'd probably just wait for daybreak to start trekking out. In the daytime, piece of cake.

Yeah I could read a map with a compass... I know a little about navigation so it might give a greater chance to succeed although I got no idea about the dangers where i am in or navigating... But reading map when driving is hard for me I have problems with it (unfortunately no gps) so I usually ask people that I pass with and ask for direction...
