I can't imagine there's a valid argument attached there, but I appreciate the sentiment!! And I would like to point out NJ was almost top of the list!1 person likes this

It's a hoax. It has circulated after the last two elections and has not reappeared.

Yeah, I figured the post was a joke, I don't really trust that these numbers can be accurately recorded (eg, I never got an IQ test in school, so I would imagine some schools just don't do this).
I was curious though, and there is a more reputable IQ estimation by state here (that even addresses some of the issues with IQ collection problems): http://www.vdare.com/Sailer/061022_iq_table.htm . Unfortunately, NJ was not as high!

Isn't that just a hoot! I had seen/heard it before and thought it was great! I sometimes think that the people that get stopped on the street or interviewed when there is some big event being covered, have to be some of the dumbest people on the street - everyone else sees the reporter and runs - those that are left end up on the radio/television being interviewed!
Have you ever noticed how, when there is a tornado somewhere, it is always the old, toothless street bum that ends up on television talking about how "it sounded like a freight train comin'". Everyone else say the guy with the microphone and ran - or they're at their homes cleaning up the mess from the storm!

There were definitely alot of people that voted one way or the other, not because of their platform but because of their race. I guess its just easier to make jokes about dumb black people.
What would be really cute is to put one of the youtube interviews with Palin and then you would have one white one to match.

I really thought that you were above this - and coming from someone who is so critical of unreliable sources in others' discussions. This is strictly an image with no indication of a reliable source behind it.

I guess if you can't insult someone on your own you can find it on the internet. Considering the amount of people who voted because "He's gonna help me", the intelligence can't be all the high.
I'm still waiting on that audible thud and the more they go on the louder it's going to be.

(and you're the one who started the discussion about spreading lies!)

irishidid - Yes, it doesn't take too much intelligence to follow blindly. It is much like bullies - it makes them feel better about themselves when they put someone else down.

Well, it just goes to show you that you cannot trust all you read on the internet. I voted for Obama but I have family and friends who did not and they are highly intelligent, just as much as my family and friends who did vote for him.
Either way, it is over, so what is the point?

I took an IQ test online once, but I forgot what the results were... which is probably an indicator that they weren't very high... hmmmm

The IQ results were taken from a book called "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" which estimated the IQ of every country that the author found IQ results from and apparently from all of the states. But IQ results really aren't a good measurement of anything, and on top of that the author didn't conduct the IQ tests, she gathered them from different sources. And on TOP of that this chart was made in October. LOL.

Wow! There must be a lot of clever Californians to drag the average into treble figures, with all the celebs there.

You certainly did, newtondak and I already had a similar discussion and it didn't end any prettier the last time.
Thanks a bunch, the pic was from a honeymoon resort we went to on our second honeymoon, we had a miniature pool in our room!! Anyway, I am definitely excited for what the future has to bring. :)

LOL!!! That's funny!
I know it's fake but you can't help but wonder how many people out there DO have IQ's in the double digits.
Happy MyLotting!

Average IQ is generally taken as around 105, so the answer to your question is, slightly less than half of us.

That's very interesting...I hadn't realized that.
I don't think I can post anything else without sounding snooty, but you've given me something to consider. Thank you!
