Mr. Beau. Evolution does not assert that Chimpanzees evolved into humans. In fact, scientists who understand evolution will tell you that this assertion would be ridiculous. Instead, evolution asserts that Chimpanzees didn't even exist when humans began to divert on their evolutionary path from the rest of the early primates.

At some point in history, nature made it necessary for some apes to become smarter, walk upright, and have less hair (which made humans), and for some other apes to become smaller (chimps) or be able to climb better (spider monkeys).

Humans did not evolve from chimps, or spider monkeys, or gorillas. All three animals evolved due to natural selection from the same common ancestor.

Man, again, could not have evolved from monkeys as they exist today, because when the evolutionary path first forked, neither humans nor monkeys existed as they do today. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND TO PROPERLY DISCUSS EVOLUTION.

How does or did nature make it necessary for apes to become smarter? And if that's the case, did nature also make their brains comply? And walk upright, what did nature do to cause that? I mean, I believe its necessary for me to wear a coat in the winter but that does not make it a fact that I always have a coat on in the winter.
And so now, nature decided that enough of the apes evolved for now? where, what was the stopping point?

woah... you know what guys, topics related in religion is really long discussion. But i have one thing to share about your comment savypat. Not all believers excluding other beliefs. we dont know their agenda until we figured out what really is his/her point. Maybe he/she's trying to explain something that God is bla bla bla bla something like that. and then later on you'll notice that he/she's true.

For me, on my own view, spaghetti monster really exists on the mind of an atheist. But not that visually specific. They only show what's their point. They dont force us to believe on them. No, not at all. Im not an atheist talking here but i know them. they respect others- especially religion. they respect God of gods. only thing they dont accept is there's one mighty spirit who never sleeps, never dies, can do anything etc etc. Not all atheist think the same way.

Robert langdon, star in the movie the vinci code and angels and demons - that fascinates us, is considered an atheist. He believes on theory - man's work. That evolution takes place before him and the rest of us - and the rest of the universe. My friend's girlfriend too can be considered as atheist. but she believes on might being who is responsible for everything that is happening around us but not believing on He did the universe. Like Langdon, university thought them (I might say brain washed them - but Im not that bad as you think) to believe on the power of science, theories, some laws that basically provide information about what we live in right now. Or from history that they can illustrate the past and relate to today's world. and some of them dont believe on the Bible.

In addition to that, the talking snake in the Garden of Eden can also be possible. I mean, if we, humans, evolved from an ape, and now that we are talking, what more can be the possibility of a snake, speaking any kind of language.

I personally think this isn't a crazy idea. I believe it's a valid scientific viewpoint.

Yeah, I was enlightened by the "Intelligent Design" documentary of Ben Stein about the complexity of cell. Even Richard Dawkins thought that the possibility of a designer may be portrayed through the cell. But of course, he never said that the designer was God. I think he said something like a civilization evolved somewhere in the universe that may have designed our way of life.
