Do you have any good ideas as to what to do with someone's old wedding dress?

sell it on e-bay! You may get most of your money back on it. Or take it to a local consignment shop. I am betting you'll get more on e-bay but at least you'll be getting some of your money back on it and who couldn't use it these days?

you can try to sell it.someone else might find it really beautiful.som bride who would like to wear a vintage gown for her wedding will find it beautiful.if you don't want to sell it,you can cut it down to pieces and make is as table runner or table napkin.

if you are crafty you could make them up into luxurious pillowcases. Apparently satin is good for the skin to sleep on. try doing a google search for somethining like "fabric scraps satin" to see if any website has any good ideas.

You can also sell fabric pieces on ebay and they seem to sell quite well - just as long as youare honest and state that they are taken from a used wedding dress and give the measurements of the pieces

I was going to suggest selling it but if you take all teh sequins and beads off I dont know how much it will sell for if it will even sell, and the fact that its 15 years old doesnt seem like it would sell. Maybe you should try donating it to a clothing drive or giving it to one of those organizations who take second hand dresses and donate them to women who are not fortunate enough to buy their own!
I know it would be great to get back the $700 you spent on it, but I doubt you would get that much for it now and besides its such a good feeling to know that someone else who is less fortunate than you gets to use it:)

maybe it is a cultural thing (am asian) but i know some europeans who just put the wedding dress in a box and keep it for the next generation to see. not really for show but keep it somewhere so if a lucky descendant chances upon seeing it he'd feel the special feeling that that union brought about.

My girlfriend just donated her old wedding dress to a theater where they perform plays.

You could make doll cloths out of it.

Well my daughter recently told me she told one of her friends she could make curtains out of her wedding dress, seems like a good idea to me.
Except her friend will save her wedding dress for another ceremony she and her soon to be husband are planning after their wedding.

hmmmm.... that's a good question. What about making a quilt? Or (could be a jinx-idea) you know those photo albums that people ALWAYS make for weddings? The ones that you take the album, add a touch of padding, cover with a lacy-covered fabric with lace all around the edges then detailed with beads and such? How about using the wedding dress as the fabric cover of those kind of albums and then you have a whole wedding dress size worth of wedding gifts.

hello i also saw or fix some of my old clothes. but for those who had a sentimental value to me i always keep and treasured it.
