Do you have any good ideas as to what to do with someone's old wedding dress? |
|
I have my daughters very expensive wedding dress from her first marriage. She doesn't want it. It was almost $700.00 over 15 years ago so you know there is alot of material, beads and sequins on it. I am going to take all the beads off and the sequins...but what would you do with all the material? It's beautiful white satin. Not practical for pillows...not practical for making a blanket out of it but it's much too beautiful to just throw away. Any ideas are welcome.

34. Loen210 (574) | 7 months ago | Ooh, as you must be a talented sewing artist, since it sounds intricate, I would first think (with my little experience and lack of sewing talent), of those really pretty, lacy, but cushiony white hearts that are like fist size, and hanging around;often they are potpourri, lovie cushions to hang up or give for Valentine's Day.
Or if you have grandkids who like things like Barbies, then maybe a wedding dress for one.
Or pretty scrunchy or hair clips for the special events for children.
OR, though you said it is an older dress in small size for this generation, maybe you could become a seller on eBay and sell. That's where you hear how people all over the world- big, medium, small, collectors, etc. search for things.
Let us know what you creat/produce with it.:o) Good luck and have fun!

| isawu2 (70) | 6 months ago | Because of my sisters being divorced her wedding dress wasn't special to her and she was a size 6 a friend of hers saw it and fell in love with it sold it on the spot for the amount the girl was going to spend on a new one $1000 and my sister only paid $250 25 years ago with the veil. If you take good pictures of it and put a reserved price of $700 I'm sure somebody out there will fall in love with it.

36. Aurone (2551) | 6 months ago | This is a great discussion for me, I am going through a divorce and was wondering what to do with my dress. I had thought of selling it on Ebay to get some $$ for the move I now have to make. But I also saw somewhere, where someone spun a wedding dress into yarn and knitted something with it. If you do those kinds of crafts that might be a way to go.
