they tell us there might be a cool front, and might actually get some rain tonight or tomorrow, but its been too hot! 16 days of 100 or 100+ temps is begining to get very old. Last summer we had over 50 days of triple digit temps (thats like 38+ C for those of you that use that system.) Its just so hot, all we want to do is hide out in the AC house. There are burn bans in effect, some areas are restricting water use. Our constant level lakes still look good, but the variable level ones are looking really bad. I'm wondering if it will get bad enough that the constant level lakes will start to be "drawn down" as well.

That is just tooo hot and I don't envy you at all. So far this year here in Italy, up in the north at least, we are not sweltering yet. We have had 10 days of very hot weather for June but it was broken by 3 days of storms so it has alredy cooled down. Very high temperatures for the time of year are forecast again for the weekend though and that's early as it will only be the beginning of July. I do hope it will rain where you are as everything willbe suffering from too much heat as yousuggest.

Hey Elic! Wow! That sure is hot and nasty! We are still kind of unseasonably cool for this time of year and I'm not going to dare complain! It has only barely been in the 80's and we have had rain for almost the whole month of June! We thought it might never stop and we might never see the sun again! I wish we could send you some of the rain that we were having and I don't think we're finished yet either! It was crazy! It rained every single day for weeks! It has only been two days now that it hasn't rained in a month! I hope that maybe you will get the rain since you seem to need it! And maybe some of the cool weather that we're having too! Try to stay cool as you can!

Our lake levels are already down so much it is horrible. Rain would be so nice to have but I guess it would make better sense to have it rain in the water shed so the lakes could build back up so we don't have strict water restrictions. This heat and heat index is horrible for sure. We thought we might have a chance for some rain but it looks like the system that was headed for the Gulf might not make it.

I hope for everyone's sake it cools off. We were cold yesterday. Wind was cold. I guess you need some Canada or Arctic Circle air to go down and help you all out down there.

Well, it wasn't that long ago the lake was full, like 4 summers ago, so I don't think they are feeling that relaxed yet!

It has been pretty freaking hot here, on and off. However, there has been a lot of rain in the last few days, and that has calmed down the heat quite a bit. It was drizzling when I went to the cafe today, and that made things nice and cool. It was such a relief for it not to have been so HOT today.

Today, we had several periods of heavy rain... once with almost gale force winds. Lots of thunder and lightning, too. Supposed to be the same tomorrow. Would you like me to send it your way?

Today will be another triple digit HOT day here. It is typical of summer in the area I live in...but the heat gets very old very fast. The lake I live beside is at 30% of its capacity... which means that I have to go from between 1/2 mile to two miles to get to the water...in comparison to during the winter when I live about a quarter of a block from the water. I inheritied the house from my folks, and I wonder WHY when dad was getting the lot set up for the house he didn't go a bit deeper and make a basement. Under the house is sooooo cool during the summer months, it would have been such a wonderful thought...but then again my dad didn't think too much. That's evidenced in some of the things he did around the house. I still haven't figured out his electrical wiring for not only the house but the yard. By the end of July, the temp should be a consistant 111 degrees plus as it is always scalding hot for the fair! My sympathies are with you, as I know that the area that you're in is always rather miserable during the summer. I just hope you will have plenty of water for the summer.

That is definitely too hot for me, however, we are just barely seeing summer here. We've had more rain, and 60 degree temperatures in the last 2 months, that it is very hard to believe we are almost into July. If this keeps up we'll be putting on the heat in September. Not sure what is worst, hot, hot weather for 6 weeks, or cold 7 months out of the year. I really want to get out of here!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I couldn't live in some place like Canada or Alaska, I honestly hurt enough with the cold we do have and even now my hand hurts from the arthritis in this heat (I shove it under a nice hot cat to warm it up at night to feel better.)

I feel your pain, as it has been hot here in Central Arkansas as well. I spent 4 days in Atlanta Georgia on a conference. We just got back yesterday, or rather late last night. We got rained on from about Birmingham until just east of Tupelo, Mississippi. My husband said we didn't get a drop in Little Rock.

Believe it or not, that's what happened to Austin when Ike hit Galveston/Houston. We were hoping it would swing west, but no such luck, not a DROP!

Here in central China it is as hot. The temperature reached 40 degrees C (104F) last week and stayed so hot for three days. But on Sunday a thunder storm came and it cooled a little. The temperature has remained around 36 degrees celcium. On hot days I don't like an air conditioner, I just wash myself in cold water over and over again to keep myself cool!

Hi ElicBxn, That's very hot. It's 10.45am and it's already 19C here (66f ) and it's getting hotter this week. Last night we lost power for a few hours, im glad it isn't 38+ C here. 10 days of 25C (78F) or more and still getting hotter. I hope you can stay cool, good luck.

OMG! During the day my eyes hurt from being outside and the heat from the roof of my car!!! It finally started raining recently and today was a real storm with seriously low visibility and a little flooding and ponding on the roads. It is actually pleasant outdoors right now in comparison.
