I know exactly how you feel, P1key. Sometimes I go five or six days without visiting myLot - I keep telling myself I should be writing, or doing the accounts, or gardening - I'm sure I had a life before the internet! What did we do to fill the hours? Right now, I'm going to watch The Bill!

I hope it's only the computer making you feel poorly. It can give you eye strain, headaches and backaches, of which I hope you have none.

I do things I try to give up or cut down on, too. But a couple of months ago I decided my computer time was going to be like work time--till 5pm each day. It's a little easier for me to enforce it because my dogs are used to it now and make me miserable if I spend any significant time on the pc after "quitting time". After 5pm we play, watch a movie, read a book or something else where they can be near me physically. When I'm on the pc, they can lay on the floor next to my chair but they can't snuggle and they don't like that.

My eyes get strained too at times l but I still come back because I need to. Office papers need to be accomplished making use of the computer. And of course my blogging and writing has to make use of a PC and it's always a joy to be online, with blogging friends, Mylot pals and many more. All the best, S.

I sure do. yes I do things as well I know I should not. Like making the first step when we have an argument knowing full well that I am the idiot of the place again in doing so. I really have to learn to respect myself a bit more and not fall into that same old trap over and over again.

I am very glad you are back, but I can understand needing a break from the online world. I took a one year sabbaticle from the world of online work, save family emails and it was the best thing I did. It was very rewarding when I came back as well. It gave me a fresh perspective.

Now, I don't think you necessarily need to take off that long, but it's ok to take a small break and then come back, and the coming back is ok. I don't think there is anything wrong with forming online relationships, or even spending a bit of time writing on forums. I think if you have a schedule that you set for yourself or a limit, that may allow you to enjoy this world, as well as maintain your healthy life outside of the computer. I suppose, in short, it's about balance.

Well I find that I also spend to much time in front of the computer and don't get the exercise that I would get if I didn't have it. Too easy to just sit here and type. Other than that I don't see how using the computer would make you feel bad. Hope you feel better soon though. I always say not going to do that again then turn right around and do it anyway, guess I don't have much will power any more.

Why are you here? Kindness, obviously. You know how much your absence would break our hearts if you were not, and how much we would miss you. I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling under the weather mate. It's definitely a good idea to get away from the PC a bit more then and get some fresh air into you! What about a nice big bonfire? That'll cheer you right up! I keep swearing to myself that I'm going to stop working in frustrating environments, yet here I am again doing the same thing in my current role. This seems to have become a common theme for me lately. Maybe I need to burn something as well?
