1. laydee (3927) | 4 weeks ago | Oh yeah, tell me about it!
I get that with someone I know and it's best if I would just order before her and eat first as she goes on complaining about everything. What's worst is the fact that she complains about the food in the buffet, well why not order one right?
I don't really like not only eating with her, but mostly having a conversation with her is really a dull moment. It's like she's in another world and what's interesting for her isn't at all interesting for the rest of us.

2. ElusiveButterfly (9413) | 4 weeks ago | When I go out to dinner I usually am the one that orders last because I cannot make up my mind. We can go out to the same restaurant week after week and I still can't make up my mind. But, I never ask the ingredients. It is a no brainer to think about what is in the dish. The only thing I do ask is what the vegetable is. Some vegies I just can't stomach.

bunnybon7 (3523) | 4 weeks ago | i can understand that. its just that she takes up way to much time with conversation. you know. its not like she gets sick with a lot of things. at home she eats almost everything. not much she dont like and shes not allergic to anything. she just likes to put on airs i think.

3. Hatley (20144) | 4 weeks ago | hi bunnybon7 oh yes long time back my husband's sister came to visit us. and oh lord she was a seventh day adventist and she would spend long minutes going over what she could eat and could not, and we always had to eat out on sabbath Saturday as otherwise she would be offended. but waiting for her to order was almost torture, if you started out hungry soon you would be ravenous. She did not eat meat and some veggies she would not eat. the waitress looked downright unhappy as she waited for her list of what she could eat. I felt guilty for enjoying my steak as she sat down and glared at me. I was just not into Seventh Day adventist so changed to my own church, methodist. I was really almost glad to see her leave.

4. ElicBxn (15057) | 4 weeks ago | then you don't want to eat with me at some place I haven't eaten before - because you would be surprised to find out where they hide corn starch in...
For example, at a steak house called "Salt Grass Steakhouse" they have a seasoning they put on their steaks and, at least 12 years ago, it had corn starch in it...
No can eat that!

bunnybon7 (3523) | 4 weeks ago | like i said, i can understand if someone is either allergic to something or a certain taste makes them sick. thats not what im talking about. im talking about her just dragging out the ordering time extensively. no apparent reason.

ElicBxn (15057) | 4 weeks ago | well, maybe she hasn't said why she does it, maybe she does have allergies and just doesn't talk about them like I do

7. catdla1 (2616) | 4 weeks ago | Oh Nooooo.... We better not go out to eat together. I'm one of those people. I can't eat anything prepared with butter, it makes me really sick. So I always ask, or if something can be made with olive oil. That's something that isn't always apparent from reading the menu. I also know that many people have allergies or digestion problems with other foods or ingredients. MSG can be tied with migranes and spikes in blood pressure. Some one who has a peanut allergy could die by eating a stir fry prepared with peanut oil. Now when eating out with some one with food or ingredient issues, it would minimize frustration to pick restaurants that they are more familiar with. That way they don't have to ask so many questions, and they probably already have favorite items that they order when they dine there.

8. celticeagle (4488) | 4 weeks ago | Yes, I had a friend whose roommate was like you describe. We started sort of teasing about it and she really took it well. We would order our food and then have the waitress go ahead and put our order in and then she would order hers seperately. Worked out great! I think a sense of humor goes along way in times like this.

bunnybon7 (3523) | 4 weeks ago | well different people in our crowd has joked about it at times but when she hears she just gets upset and it dont change anything.

celticeagle (4488) | 4 weeks ago | Maybe she needs to get upset. Perhaps you all need to have it out with her once and for all. Things like this only cause stress and are so horrid to put up with. And like I always say: Like is just too short! It sounds as if you are not the only one she irritates and so you really need to have an intervention and speak to her tactfully and lovingly and have an end to this.

9. moorange (251) | 4 weeks ago | I've encountered some people with that kind of attitude towards ordering food. In our culture it's a way of respect to wait for all the ordered food to be served before eating. However, if I have a person like this in my company I'll just eat and enjoy my food (won't wait) not going to care how long he/she orders. Besides, I don't want picky person to be with me or in my company when going out expecially when it comes to food.
I like almost every type of food and dishes including exotic and street foods.
Hao!

10. mashiuwsan (136) | 4 weeks ago | Maybe she just wants to make sure she's getting her money's worth? I get to be picky at times when I dine out because I check the menu and what's in my order (ingredients and stuff), after all I'm paying for it:)
