Is your cell phone "state of the art" or do you have a regular cell phone?  

I use my phone mainly for the fact that it is a phone, not an mp3player or camera or any other kind of gadget. It's battery hold up to 1 week and I have very good reception. I don't fancy hi-tech phone. I'm old fashioned :)

Just a week back I have purchased N-97 mini. It is very rich in feature. it has WLAN, to access internet, GPRS, GPS, video streaming #G, Video conferencing FM radio, MP# and much more feature. It is mainly used for talking. I hardly use cell phone for sending text. Internet on mobile is used mainly to check mails when on move. I use it quite often. The other important feature i use from it is its touch screen facility.

Actually it is too rich in feature and I am yet to explore many of them.

hi,ctry,i use very normal model of cell.My main purpose is just recieving calls and making necessary calls,thats all.More than that i have not use anyother facilities including camara or evev SMS facility also.

Hi I just usea basic Nokia as I only need to text or call from it and really do not understand technology too much so most features on a stste o the art phone would be wasted with me. My daughters have ones that connect to the internet and all sorts but I stick to simple. Ellie :)

Mine has an mp3 player (which I don't use) and an FM radio (which I don't use) and a camera (which I don't use)...I use it (occasionally) to call people, and that is the only thing I use it for.

I don't even text...can't stand it.

currently i just have a regular cell phone. i'm interested in a iphone since i've heard their so popular. i've never actually used a smart phone. i really don't like the idea of using the internet with small buttons and a small screen to surf web sites online. having gps capability on a cell phone as well as email is appealing to me though. i've seen other cool things on a video that can be done with a smart phone like making your own music by coming up with your own humming sounds which looked really cool so that would be a nice additon to have as well.

I use regular cellphones, i have two, one is a motorola razr and the other one is a china phone XD im not really interested on those "state of the art" or "techy" phones, as long as i can communicate with my friends and have an internet connection, ill be fine. :)

i would say i have a regular phone. i have a nokia e51 and a nokia 7210c supernova. my supernova is pretty much a regular phone with camera, video, mp3 and radio, plus all the phone features such as text and calls. my e51 is a business phone (so the ads say). i say it's a regular phone to me since it's not as high tech as all the new phones out there. but it's pretty useful. aside form the now standard camera, video, mp3, radio and phone features, it's wifi capable and has a little computer function. it has quickword, quickexcel and quick powerpoint so i can view some documents on my phone, although i cannot use it for creating new ones. i guess it's not just a regular phone, but it's not a 'state of the art' phone either. i love this phone because it's useful and i got it at a good price too.

I'm with you ctrymuziklvr...a phone is for calling and some texting. I can't understand the craze. I just don't see the "fun" or whatever it is, that draws people to view something so constantly on such a tiny little area! Those screens are so small and people just starr at it constantly. To much work for me to even imagen it being fun! And I just don't see that people have to be that accessible constantly!! Doesn't anyone want any "alone" time or time to themselves anymore? And like you said...I have a PC for all that same stuff...why carry it around with me? Need something to do while I wait? I take a book! And know what? A "book" doesn't EVER have a problem with reception, low "bars", low battery, dead battery and never do you ever see a sign that says "O Books" (thats with a line through the O for "no")

But my daughter is the same as your son...she upgrades constantly..okay, maybe just once a year, but those things aren't cheap! She got an iphone recently...all jazzed at how much it can do etc. Just last week I asked her how she likes it. She says "not much..to many buttons to press to get to where you want to go".

I think cell phones are so over rated it is ridiculous!

Before, I was okay in having a regular cellphone. I even got the cheapest kind. But one of my siblings has this privilege with his job where they provide him with a cellphone and upgrades it regularly. So, in a way, he's got cellphones more than he can use over the years. He offered me one of his hi-tech cellphones at a much cheaper price than it's out there. I guess you could say I got a good bargain :-) I know, he should have given it to me instead hahahaaa it's already more than a good enough deal so I'm cool with it. Even though it's got all these nice features, I don't use all of them. I only have prepaid cellcard and I got to monitor my cellphone usage so I don't even get to use its internet capabilities. Maybe in time when I can afford to maximize all its uses, then well and good :-)
