Valerie J. Routhieaux I'm sorry about your truck. I hope you find a new one that works well for you.
I'm glad the shopping went well. I know you don't like it, but it has to be done.
We got a lot of rain here a couple of days ago. Sounds like it found you. -- Aren't you glad it...

I just did a very brief one..less than 2 minutes that paid 7.00 dollars. Wouldn't it be nice if they were all like that? If course this is the exception rather than the rule. The other good thing was it paid immediately..sweet!!

Hey everyone, how are you all doing?
I am back to share another photo for the series.
This time, it is another flower. This is another option I saw when I was getting my mom some flowers for Mother's Day back in May. These...

It's time to move on. For the longest time, I've had the CURRENTLY READING widget on my blog, and it's taking forever to finish all the books that I've listed there. And I've been feeling like a total failure.
I want to feel...

Normally I try to share good news stories but in this case this story is bittersweet since the driver of a tractor trailer passed away when his tractor trailer crashed with an auto on Tuesday evening on Interstate 64 in South...

Vince used to collect coins but the time has come to move them on.
One of a special series commemorates Weet-Bix, a breakfast cereal which is nearly as popular as Vegemite. I was a bit surprised that Weet-Bix featured on a coin...

I was at a boutique store today buying a few things. After I paid, the cashier handed me my receipt and said, "Here's your receiPt." She pronounced the P at the end instead of saying it the usual way.
At first, I thought it was...

Valerie J. Routhieaux You did the right thing. I wouldn't embarrass someone even when I know the correct pronounciation.

My view at 6:17 PM last Thursday,June 18.
I arrived at our store and as I look up at the sky that's what I saw, kind of like a fire dragon. Well, I couldn't think of any.
In the next store which was owned by my...

I remember when wearing a watch was the easiest way to check the time. Now, most of us just pull out our phones. The funny thing is that sometimes I take out my phone to check the time, get distracted by something, and then forget...

Valerie J. Routhieaux I got my first watch when I was in eigth grade. I took off my watch - not the same one - this year because it finally died. The battery no longer kept it going as it did before. Now, I have a fitbit that takes it's place. I look at it often, not just to check...

There has been a lot of interesting talk her lately about flatpacks and building furniture. Many years ago, early in our DIY career, we made a cabinet for a bathroom. It was L-shaped and Vince did a great job with the framework....

If there is one thing you never want to happen in the summer (or approaching the summer months), is to have your air conditioning system in your house go down.
But that's exactly what I thought happened to mine yesterday. When my...

Valerie J. Routhieaux I'm glad you averted a financial crisis with the A/C.
My furnace went out last September. I didn't notice it until I went to turn it on and nothing happened. It took a couple of weeks to get maintenance to fix it, but thankfully it was fixed before winter set...

Yesterday, at the pool, I met a kid who was swimming away in the shallow end.
When I jumped in,...
