On the surface, this sounds like a sensible policy. I hope it works as well as they're hoping it will. I can see several flaws in the plan, though. Just like with porn sites, their age algorithms will be ignored or easily circumvented. Sites will also set up...

It looks like a small money but it could still reduce the number of people visiting the United Kingdom annually. The UK ill start charging a little over 1 pound daily to tourist who intend to be in the country even for few days....

Where I live, Christmas celebrations start as early as September. We begin to see establishments and individual homes putting up decorations, and holiday songs are already playing everywhere. Now that it’s December, the festive spirit is in full swing.

I cook a Christmas meal but we don't open presents or sing. We don't decorate for Christmas, either. My city puts up white lights for the Christmas season but we don't go out looking at them. The city does that in case tourists drive through here.

Yes, it’s difficult. How I cope is by putting the light on.

@ogbenishyna44 Some people complain no matter what the weather is. If it's cold, if it's horribly hot, if it's raining, and on and on. The weather is something we just can't change, yes, it's normal to complain about extremes, but in the end, nothing we can...

I guess it's part of visiting another country. It probably will not affect tourism greatly unless the amounts become excessive. Maybe a tourist will not stay as long a time in the case of the UK.

It gets dark where I live at 5pm, but it doesn’t bother me since it’s just a couple of months. I appreciate each season as it comes, and when it gets dark earlier than normal it just feels cozier at home to me.

It's like this every year, I am used to it. It's OK. I am one of the weird people who try to celebrate each season as it comes. Now is the time for the earth to rest here, and get ready for the spring flowers, plants, gardens, and warmer temperatures.

It happens every year, you just have to get used to it. I just put the light on, and close the curtains so the darkness is outside.

I don't like it at all. It feels so gloomy outside and along with the colder weather it's depressing. I probably cope with it by eating more especially cookies or pastry with some tea. A glass of wine or 2 is also nice, lol.

Humans can try anything but cold air can also cause blood clots, depression is not a trivial matter maybe meditation can cure it.

Well, swimming in cold water seems to be something that would have shorter term effects than medication, and it also seems a painful way to swim. I would think exercise of any kind would help depression, as research tends to show. Cold water though? I would...
