The Demise of Television

Those of you in financial difficulties probably do activities online to earn money. After all, Mylot helps us do that (though we certainly don't post strictly for money). I belong to an online group that occasionally sends me pilots for new television shows, and has me review them. Others here may belong to the same site.
So, a couple of weeks ago I was asked to review a pilot episode called, "The Toe Bro". And friends, I believe television has hit rock bottom. I won't relay specifics lest I gross you out, but it's a podiatrist who refers to himself as, of course, "The Toe Bro".
Now, some of you may remember I once posted about the show "Dr. Pimple Popper" (who is a dermatologist, but doesn't pop pimples, literally). You might say, how are you okay with that, but the podiatrist gets to you? Let me be clear, I wasn't made sick by what I saw. I'm not easily grossed out. It's just It feels like desperation. Everyone is looking for that niche market, trying to outdo each other.
Spoiler alert: All he really did was remove ingrown toenails. And no, I didn't have to watch it. But I'm not going to turn down much needed money.
Has there been an example where you thought, wow, TV is scraping the bottom of the barrel?
*I feel like this will eventually air on TLC because they air the oddest shows.
** I actually just saw a commercial, and it's on A&E.

Oh that would be a cool site for me to do reviews for, lol.
That will be one odd show.. and I certainly wouldn't watch it. lol.
I don't see how the pimple popping show made it so long already lol

I have to agree that television is scrapping the bottom of the barrel with some of the shows they put on the air. I haven't seen Dr. Pimple Popper but I know it's popular. Guess people like to be grossed out ...ewww

@rebelann I guess it's still popular because it's still on the air

That would be cool to do reviews on what's coming out or thinking about it, I think they are running out of ideas for tv shows as well.

Well, not all of it @hillhjill they have yet to formulate another series as good and funny as Bewitched was.

I have felt for a long time that they had run out of interesting things for television. Reality shows--yuk.

I actually belong to a panel like that too, Thank God, I haven't had to review a show like that though. The ones I have seen were a little weird..but nothing gross.

It's more fun to stream shows I already know I will like.

I haven't watched traditional TV in decades and have no desire to start. When Star Gate aired their last season which I watched I completely lost interest in TV. Streaming TV is all I watch anymore.
